Respect deserved

892

We’ve seen a few difficult games against Hamilton Accies in recent years, including what proved to be a costly draw after being denied a late winner at New Douglas Park, but we’ve never met them in this form.

Hamilton have the longest unbeaten run in Scotland.  They lost their opening league game of the season, at home to Inverness, but have won seven and drawn two of their subsequent nine games.  Their 0-4 win away to Motherwell last week was a display of sharp, organised football – and remember, Motherwell took at point at Celtic Park the previous weekend.

Alex Neil will have no intentions of leaving pointless tomorrow.  This is the game he and his players will have been waiting for since the fixtures were announced four months ago.  Their four SPLF away games: wins at St Mirren, Partick and Motherwell, and a draw at Tannadice, has been preparation for Celtic Park.

If Celtic have a Europa League hangover, Accies will boss them.  Forget the lowly status of the club, respect is needed if we are the get the desired result and performance required.

I’m running the Great Scottish Run in aid of Celtic Foundation tomorrow morning, which presents a, erm, personal hygiene challenge for the game.  It’ll be a full can of deodorant day.  If you have a £1 or two for the fundraising, you can help here.

I’ve listened to Dalziel on clyde for the last hour (usually switch off).

He actually tells the listener nothing and is almost as inarticulate as Johnstone.

A rank bad pundit on a truly awful show. So off to the pub for some decent informed debate from a crowd of pie-eyed experts.

Celtic should beat Hamilton tomorrow, but. . .

I don’t understand why myself, but there certainly seems to be something in this ‘hangover’ following Thursday night European games

After the first round of EL games the three British teams had home matches against on paper inferior teams.

    Spurs v. West Brom

    Everton v. Crystal Palace

    Celtic v. Murderwell.

Spurs and Everton got beaten and Celtic managed a draw thanks to a very soft penalty.

  3. Tcc,

I’ve looked at this for years. It happens in the cl too.

I remember a right good Liverpool side going down to derby, either just before or just after a cl game. One of the big guns nearly always drops points

  4. Any one know why the BBC have a picture of a hun scoring on the SPFL’s live feed, did no one tell them they’re no in the top league..FFS fawning shoite bags

Glad of the correction. Being assaulted with a wind instrument isn’t pleasant. I know from personal experience.

    The mind boggles -:))

Sorry for the delay in responding but your reference brought it all back, the whole trauma. I won’t go into the details but I can tell you that I was really brassed off.

Apologies for being instrumental in reminding of such a traumatic time in your life

With the bhoys out of action until tomorrow, a wee quick quiz question to tide us over…

Name 10 Celts who have also played for Chelsea (let’s say post WWII).

***The rules of the game are always the same. No search engines please, you’re only cheating yourself***

Burghbhoy, I hope Mark Fulton did him properly.

Sleekit is a loathsome individual. He acts like a hun, talks like a hun and rips the p right out of them by telling them what they want to hear.

I never even looked at my contract when I signed it, what a pile of poo. Sleekit is loyal to himself & his bank balance.

Talking of Mark Fulton, there was a book published in the late eighties about the o** f***. The front cover was of Mark Fulton wearing a hooped Accies top being challenged by a sticky bun. A slight mistake by the editorial team.

  10. Now Hertz 2 up. I know they are diet Huns but I still want them to pump the Glasgow version.

  11. I think Hamilton will win tomorrow.

Although second on the grid, he could pass on the first corner and win the race from there.

  12. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Does Tommy Doc count as he was manager at Stamford Bridge.

Cowpat Nevin played for Celtic Boys Club.

  13. The Comfortable Collective on

Good day for the new clubs. Gretna 2008 winning at half time in the Scottish cup and Rangers 2012 winning at half time in the league.

    Well done to them.

  14. Nye Bevans' rebel soldier on

Kevj……..they will do what they do,and they will be back next

season,I know you know that………some on here don’t.

  15. Apparently some homespun objections to the singing of the Billy boys caused the fighting

according to thr Follow follow hoardes

  16. Well done on a team effort.

    The ones I had were:

Davie Hay, tony cascarino, tom boyd, magnus hedman, dimitri kharine, paul elliot, craig burley, jiri jarosik, chris sutton and Bobby Evans.

The Doc didn’t ‘play’ for both teams and although it wasn’t stipulated in the question, the assumption should be first teamers (Feruz) otherwise we could add another 10 probably.

    Sorry – wrong link.
