It’s been a good news day all round, with Peter Lawwell handing over a £10k cheque to Yorkhill Children’s Charity on your behalf. The iconic Glasgow children’s hospital closes tomorrow with services moving to the new Royal Hospital for Sick Children.
Delighted also that Celtic received a Platinum Award from the SFA for the standards of their facilities and governance. We have been awarded by more prestigious bodies but it’s good to be endorsed anyway.
Mike Ashley…….. five counsel to enforce a contract! It’s like going into a fist fight with a bazooka. There will be carnage in the weeks to come………..

Anyone worrying about Ashley wanting to bank roll them need not worry.
The bottom line for Thems is £30 million to steady the ship. Minimum. Over and above what they can expect to.generate from income.
Why spend all or part of that to get merchandising money back? It would take years to turn a profit that would make it worth hus while.

I agree with all that you say about Ashley’s M.O. to date. However,like many others,I wish he was not involved with them.
He may be bleeding them dry via the retail operation,but someone would be were it not him. Whether someone other than him would have coughed up to keep them afloat last season is a different question.
My ideal scenario is for Mike Ashley to toddle off into the sunset,having ripped what remaining shreds of dignity they have left,with a parting salvo along the lines of
You had one chance,with me on board. You blew it. Enjoy oblivion.
On the back of a 2nd 1 year kit being released with news of a 3rd due to follow I am not in the mood to pay respect to Celtic in the marketing sense.
A father with 3 kids, who buys all the jerseys for himself and is tortured and hounded by his kids to but them all the latest full kits will have to fork out £800 now with another £800 in 12 months time.
Celtics marketing department also added a foot note highlighting how 100% of the profits go back in to the club.
Incidentally the family I have just used as an example stands to save circa 10% if he shops elsewhere – with a middle man who has added their cut onto their price.
Nope, in the week when Celtic supporters are treated shamefully as Celtic customers – I am not in the mood to gie them my respect.

I fully sympathise with that. An expensive set of must-haves for the weans.
In one respect,it is no surprise. New kit supplier,so it was always on the cards that a whole new range would come through in one hit.
If they follow it up with the same next season-and Nike changed all three every year towards the end of their contract-then I’ll be disappointed.
Totally unnecessary attempt to fleece the fans.
( I hope they don’t see my use of fleece as a marketing ploy,reacting to fans’ requests!)
