Respecting the journey

810

This is not a journey!  Respect to the Celtic marketing guys who ran his headline on a story discussing the Champions League qualifying draw, which takes place on 22 July, the same day the players return to training after a short summer lay-off.  You can tell when people enjoy their work.

Last week’s article, ‘We’ve missed them and now we want them back’, referring to the absence of Champions League nights, also had a delicious twist.  That’s all we want back!

It’s been a good news day all round, with Peter Lawwell handing over a £10k cheque to Yorkhill Children’s Charity on your behalf.  The iconic Glasgow children’s hospital closes tomorrow with services moving to the new Royal Hospital for Sick Children.

Delighted also that Celtic received a Platinum Award from the SFA for the standards of their facilities and governance.  We have been awarded by more prestigious bodies but it’s good to be endorsed anyway.

Mike Ashley…….. five counsel to enforce a contract!  It’s like going into a fist fight with a bazooka.  There will be carnage in the weeks to come………..

Amalfi- I am just back on the 30th May stayed at the Monastero Santa Rosa a bit pricey but it was a special occasion so well worth it.

Bonta del capo – excellent restaurant even better views

di gemma in amalfi excellent restaurant food awesomenko

my fav rest was down at the pier the boulliebase was one of the best I have ever tasted but cant remember the name of it due to the amarone ;-) and free limonchella

the food is to die for in the amalfi coast the views are amazing and the people so friendly. I bought a white linen shirt from an old Italian tailor who had the most excellent patter on earth one of a kind.

Ravello – very quite but quaint little town

My Mrs loved amalfi so much we never got to capri or positano or the rest of the towns

I am just so surprised that I had never been to Italy before apart from back packing many years ago from bologna to brindisi for the ferry to patros in Greece. Perhaps the shock of the red brigade blowing up the bologna train station I was in some 3 months earlier had something to do with it.

I will now visit Italy every year for the foreseeable future a cracking place and I am sure there are lots more better places to go than the amalfi.

South of Tunis – You are a very lucky man to have settled there I just wish it was me.

  2. Sirmione is v nice but is thronged.

In fact, my experience of Italians is that they love crowds – the bigger the better. Maybe those here who live in Italy might have an opinion.

Also, if you don’t like hordes of people, don’t go out for the day on a Sunday.

This is all is based on only 5 or 6 holidays over the years so feel free to contradict.

Read Phil Mac’s latest on the hun v Mick the tim in court today. I’s worth reading the comments and especially the one at 15.18 from a hun who’s obviously been on the electric soup a bit early in the day.

Cant C&P from Phil’s site so go read it for your deluded hun belly laugh of the day.

Wishful thinking on your part, Mr Phil. King has shown his plan to get The Gers up into the SPFL. We’ve got a highly respected manager about to be appointed. We’ve cleared the decks of the players who didn’t get us up last season. As King says, there is no place for failed players at Ibrox. We will sign winners and they will get us up as Champions and then we’re on an even playing field. No more diddy SPFL titles for you. Ashley will blink and declare the RFC debt a write off. If he thinks Newcastle fans have shown any anger towards him, just wait until he feels the wrath of 50k bears.

had been looking at going to Istanbul in the fall, but with the troubles there, that may not happen….

LOL welcome to Turkiye……………………you wont fancy Diyarbakir then.

Just looking at Sevcomedia, seems to me they’re lacking in hard facts. It’s merguez-work than anything else.

I would be happy to go to Istanbul, but the boss had a bad experience in Turkey before, and is a bit gun shy ….

Along with a safari in Africa, Istanbul is probably my top place I still have to see ….. hopefully, things will settle down there a bit soon, so we can get over ….. looks like an amazing country.

but, think I would avoid the whole s/e area at the moment,, and Diyarbakir prison in particular!

  18. Ole Dave King can tell some porkers and the Sevconians seem to have no beef with it.

Btw, it’s really sizzling here today.
