Respecting the journey

810

This is not a journey!  Respect to the Celtic marketing guys who ran his headline on a story discussing the Champions League qualifying draw, which takes place on 22 July, the same day the players return to training after a short summer lay-off.  You can tell when people enjoy their work.

Last week’s article, ‘We’ve missed them and now we want them back’, referring to the absence of Champions League nights, also had a delicious twist.  That’s all we want back!

It’s been a good news day all round, with Peter Lawwell handing over a £10k cheque to Yorkhill Children’s Charity on your behalf.  The iconic Glasgow children’s hospital closes tomorrow with services moving to the new Royal Hospital for Sick Children.

Delighted also that Celtic received a Platinum Award from the SFA for the standards of their facilities and governance.  We have been awarded by more prestigious bodies but it’s good to be endorsed anyway.

Mike Ashley…….. five counsel to enforce a contract!  It’s like going into a fist fight with a bazooka.  There will be carnage in the weeks to come………..

Shareholders make a financial investment in the corporation, which entitles those with voting shares to elect the directors. Shareholders do not normally have any rights to be involved directly in company management. Their connection to company management is typically via the Board of Directors.

If shareholders are not satisfied with the performance of the directors, they may remove the directors or refuse to re-elect them.

Except for certain fundamental transactions or changes, shareholders normally do not participate directly in corporate decision-making and while, as a practical matter, boards want to know the views of the shareholders, strictly speaking, directors are not normally required to solicit or comply with the wishes of shareholders.

Well the old Betamax machines had a reputation for quality.

Don’t think I’d switch it on just from the off.

But no reason if you have one of those little electronic shops around, know there rare these days or know a hobby electronics guy with a little workshop, they couldn’t get it to function.

First of all I’d make sure it was dry.

Then take the covers of, get shot of all the oose and dust, check the integrity of the main components. Joints, Electrolytic Capacitors and the like – these May need to be replaced.

Then the moving parts, some can be lubricated using special oil but you must ensure you only oil the specific parts and don’t allow oil on the heads and the like. Make sure the rubber bands etc haven’t perished and you never know.

Always ensure they turn the thing on with a variac, and an ammeter in line to ensure you are not going to blow someone, or the machine or the electrical system up.

That all goes well then Bobs your uncle.

    Happy reminiscing:-)

Pcumsalford, I don’t know about getting the machine repaired but if you google Betamax to DVDs there are plenty companies out there who will re record your footage.

Might be easier than repairing the player.

  7. Wonder what WGS will do on Saturday

    I’d choose C.Gordon over D.Marshall

I’d play Phil Bardsley over Hutton at right back

Beside Russell Martin I would be cautious about playing Mulgrew

I’d play Robertson at left back

Beside Broony in the defensive 2 midfielders, does he go Darren Fletcher, or James Morrison?

Attacking midfielders for me : Anya left, Charlie Adam centre, S.Naismith right

    Centre Forward : Steven Fletcher

    Opinions ?

A stunned quonno unreservedly accepts that there is no imminent league construction to save THEIR skins this season.

    No sausage pun intended.

He also accepts fully the Mark Hately view that another year in the Championship is as good as a run in the Champions League.

Anyone know about supposed legal activity in Edinburgh.

  15. Orangefest was a cunning plan to get around the long standing ban on football celebrations in public places in Glasgow.

It was meant to signal a triumphant end of their journey back (sic).

Tonight the brilliant Glasgow Warriors celebrate and I applaud their outstanding success. Glad they got the luck with the weather too!

I know two former investors in the former club who have walked away from their losses in the Club Deck all the way over to Scotstoun to be part of the Warrior success.

The Warriors have increased their crowds from a few thousand die hards to up to 10,000.

These additional supporters mostly come from the rugby playing private schools – like the one Craig Whyte attended. These guys – lawyers, accountants, businessmen – have walked away.

They don’t believe the same club crap. They lost out on seats for life and the new company didn’t honour their deal with the club. Because it died.

They know and that’s why the success of the Warriors is bad news for the new club.

I have very little interest in International football unless I have a wee financial incentive on the games, but really looking forward to this game on Saturday, I love both MON & WGS but as for your post I think wee Gordon will stick with Marshall in goals, Chas will be in the middle beside Broony, and Fletcher will start and for good measure I hope McGeady has a great game as well…..

Radio Scotland this morning quoting VVD from a dutch mag about how he needs a new challenge and the club need to let him move, im sure VVD is very aware of what the club want from him and he will be here for the CL qualifiers at least, the media must have a negative story about Celtic every day but it is now obvious to everyone and their pain is almost tangible, large maelstrom coming the way of sevco is there?
