Rest Rogic through the international break

398

The goal Livingston scored to defeat Celtic in September was their solitary strike in a run of six games.  Since then, form has bounced, they won 0-3 at St Johnstone, 2-3 at Ross County and drew 1-1 at home to Dundee United.  Notwithstanding that, I expect a backlash from Celtic tomorrow that goes someway to resolving the awful performance we put in at the Plastic Pasta Pitch.

Not so long ago, the persistent rain that has fallen on Scotland this week, would turn pitches into quagmires, unfit for precision passing.  By contrast, a soaking Easter Road on Wednesday could hardly be more accommodating to Celtic’s fast passing style.  Celtic Park should be equally accommodating tomorrow.

Although Tom Rogic was instrumental to the best of our performance against Hibs, there is no reason to risk his hamstring so soon.  Resting him for the trip to Hungary and then to Dens Park next weekend, would be enough to keep him from globetrotting with Australia during the subsequent international break.

We return from that break to a League Cup semi-final and a relentless run of fixtures ahead of the winter break.  A bit of squad management with Tom right now makes sense.

All the very best, Big Fella. Hopefully a good performance and result today will help you pick up. Just leaving a very damp and windy Arbroath to make my way to Paradise.

    Cheerio for now.

  2. Thanks to all the good guys ( so far) who have wished DAVID66 well. He and I had a long chinwag on the phone yesterday and he made every attempt to keep his chin up during the long chat.

Hopefully, he will be back and fighting fit before too long.

  3. SCANIEL,

Thanks for your reply to my Post and the news about the “Family”.

Tell your ” Big Jimmy” to stop farting aboot !

I still hope to visit one day, but as you know I have had my own problems with my health, which restricts me travelling anywhere…for now.

I may be in a better place after New Year ? I really cant walk very far, or stand for any more than a couple of minutes before the pain kicks in etc. I had to take wee Rocky Bhoy to the Vet last Friday and I may need to take him back again, as he hasnt recovered as much as I had hoped, and I think he is still in some discomfort, due to constipation, and hes not eating much unless its Chicken.

I am VERY worried about him, and quite stressed about it all.

Anyway, all the best mate, and hopefully one day soon I can get on a Train and pay an arranged visit ?

    Stay safe.

    HH Mate.

  4. Get well David 66.

When a fellow Tim needed help, you were there. That will not be forgotten.

    KEEP THE FAITH

    Agreed.

True facts should never be forgotten.

To be fair to Hollywood, no one in Europe seemed interested in making the Great Escape and, although they lobbed 3 American characters into the story, I think Sturges did not a bad job.

If you’ve never read the book by Paul Brickhill I’d recommend it.

An Australian fighter pilot, Brickhill was actually there.

Come to think of it Coburn’s Australian character might have been a nod to the author?

    Good to see you CSC

  13. One thing I like about the Green Brigade, is their use of the old song books and chants, old heros remembered,

Jimmy, Billy, Henrik songs and others.

Rather than a half hour silence (totally pointless if and when a goal is scored), are they too afrai to sing the only chant that will get the suits uncomfortable

    SACK THE BOARD

  14. Thanks again to all the well wishers this morning on here who have made kind comments about DAVID66, who is in a bit of pain at the moment and unwell.

I KNOW DAVID66 will be on here as soon as possible to thank you all.

Just home from an event, spoke to a very senior ex cop i know, during his tome with PS served as a match commander at CP. He described Higgins as an egotistical little p****. Said he’s a Celtic supporter but not the right man to be inside CP.

    ===========================

That’s funny, I thought he would fit right in with the existing “Celtic are in good hands” gang :-)

Just back in after a clean up day down at the local

    soccer club.

Young dudes lifting parts of roof, tree branches and

all sorts of debris after our wee storm.

A bit different to back in the day in sunny Govan when

you had to pull a burnt out car off the park, or find the

chopped down goalposts before a game lol.

Ready now for a large rid biddy and a Celtic goal fest

    David 66

    Hope you’re well soon mhate.
