Dundee United’s only win in four games since beating Celtic last month was at Livingston. They also drew with Hibs and Aberdeen and lost at home to Dundee on Saturday. Those wins over Celtic and Livi are their only successes in 12 games, stretching back to October. In all competitions, they won one game in August, one in September, one in October, none in November and two in December. Quite how they escaped such mediocrity to batter the champions for 45 minutes is a lesson for the ages.
They have lost only two away games in the league all season, which is quite a claim for a side that’s been to every ground apart from Celtic Park. They are, however, the league’s draw specialists, with 10 of their 21 games finishing level, more than any other side. You can be confident this outcome will be their target at Celtic Park on Saturday.
In particular, draws at Tynecastle, Ibrox, Pittodrie and Easter Road will be the template they bring to Glasgow. They scored in each of these games (seven in total), so they do more than just shut up shop. We know to expect a challenge to break them down and an accomplished counter-attacking game. It will not be easy.

Callum Wilson wanted by 2 Saudi Clubs.
BIGCHIPSUK on 8TH JANUARY 2026 2:01 PM
….
In defence of Calmac from my vantage point in the North Stand , we have a perfect view of our midfield attacking in the 2nd half and Calum takes up good position almost always , his problem very often is the refs position on his left blocking the ball to the wing.
HH
Team for Saturday
I’d give Kasper another chance on the basis that any keepers confidence would have been shot to pieces under Wilfs arrangements. Tony needs a break and some hypnotherapy , wee fella upfront if transferred.
Kasper
New Bloke AT LS KT
AE. Cal. LMcG
Yang Kyogo DM
Good enough 11 to beat United comfortably.

Matthew Berlow has confessed to helping fake an anti-Semitic graffiti attack on his own home in order to defame the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
–
A prominent Glasgow-based lawyer has been ordered to pay £500 in fines after helping fake anti-Semitic vandal attack on his home in order to smear a Scottish Palestinian solidarity group, the Daily Record reported on Monday.
John Berlow, known for his staunch pro-Israel views, has been condemned by legal watchdogs over the scam aiming to defame the Scottish Palestinian Solidarity Campaign (SPSC).
According to an investigation by the Law Society of Scotland (LSS), Berlow acted alongside a man named Ed Sutherland, who had created a fake Facebook profile under the name Stevie Harrison in order to infiltrate the pressure group last year.
Berlow and Sutherland are both involved in Friends of Israel, which works to promote the country’s interests in the UK.
Stevie Harrison – who Sutherland had made into a pro-Palestinian activist – posted on Facebook about the graffiti scrawled on Berlow’s Glasgow home.
“A certain Jewish lawyer woke up this morning to find ‘Free Palestine’ spray-painted rather prominently – no idea who was responsible,” read the posted, followed by several winking emojis.
Berlow responded to the pose feigning outrage.”Idiocy. Typical SPSC behaviour criminal,” he wrote.
The solicitor later confessed to the LSS that he knew the attack had been fabricated. However, he said he went along with the conspiracy because the Harrison was useful “to monitor various disruptive activities of the SPSC”.
The LSS’s initial probe concluded that Berlow failed to maintain the standards of behaviour expected for a solicitor.
“The pertinent issue is the solicitor’s comment, ‘Typical SPSC behaviour’ and the association between the SPSC and the supposed act of vandalism in the post. The post was made by the alias Stevie Harrison,” the society said.
The probe confirmed that Harrison was a fake persona created by Sutherland in order to impersonate an “anti-Israeli activist”.
Berlow claimed on Sunday the plot had been a sting in order to catch someone who had ben stalking him.
“Unfortunately I made it too real and named an organisation I shouldn’t have. It wasn’t my intention to blame the SPSC for a fictitious event,” said Berlow.
However, SPSC member have demanded Berlow pay compensation to those smeared in the bogus attack.
Mick Napier, the chair of SPSC’s Glasgow branch, told the Daily Record: “We welcome the finding against Berlow but the gravity of the offence clearly merits more than a £500 rap on the knuckles.”
“I believe those who have been defamed, including myself, should be awarded exemplary damages. We have been smeared as anti-Semitic and that is serious and quite unacceptable,” he added.

“The DCCSC folded this season after a 28 year run
Sorry to hear that – I was out in Porto last night with the family (serious good food about) and was wearing my Bhoys US Tour t-shirt from the pub they hosted games for DC United game – seemed a good club.”
———————————-
Hi TEXAS TIM:
It was. We went to enormous effort to organize 4 days of events either side of that game.
However, the Board’s sabotage of the team led to attendances falling off a cliff. So much so that the Irish Bar declined to show a Celtic game in favour of around 300 Viking fans booking the entire premises for their NFL.
We protested, and were invited to find somewhere else. That was the last straw.
As one of our members said, “As where the diaspora goes, the attendance at UK and Irish CSCs will surely follow.” ( Assuming Despot Dermond and his dysfunctional nodding dogs are still in charge.)

The in-form striker in the EPL is Thiago at Brentford
Career trajectory:
– Brazil second tier
-> Ludogrets in Bulgaria
-> Brugge (them again) for €7.9m
-> Brentford (them again) £30m
Talk of a call up to the Brazil squad
Dermots last few big decisions have been very poor anyone can make mistakes but Dermots are sort of really bad judgement.
Never date your poisonous ex should be a guiding rule in life and business , basic rule ignored.
Never hire a maverick , gobshite that no one else in a comparable organisation will touch.
Never agree important hires recommended by aforementioned maverick.
Seems to me the Big Dog needs to get better advice around him which he is prepared to listen to , so company doctor to fix the organisation and board , generous punts agreed for a couple of star forwards ( to break the model) to make up for his inexcusable mistakes.
If he wants to hand over to junior we need a proper structure and serious people to support the pup.
Alternatively, sells up to one of his business pals.

I’d love to have Ferguson, can’t see it happening though

Re; Dermot’s badly trained pup .
I don’t thing the vast majority of fans will ever forgive him for his AGM performance . I certainly won’t.
I worry about the present state of affairs under Dermot . I would worry even more about the longer term if the pup replaces him .
Over in Govan looks like they are splashing the cash around:
“Tuur Rommens bid accepted as Rangers fork out £3.5m for rising Westerlo star
The Belgian defender is on his way to Glasgow and is set to be joined by £4m Sturm Graz midfielder Tochi Chukwuani. “

I’m not too surprised.
As I understand it , if they win the league and if things go their way with other leagues , there is a chance they can automatically qualify for the CL without a qualifier.
That’s based on their own coefficient. We or Hearts would definitely face a play off ( perhaps more than one..? )
DENIABHOY on 8TH JANUARY 2026 3:19 PM
Looks like theyre getting on with things.
Hopefully we can stop the stupid recruitment stop chasing unicorns and get back to what we do best, or we could be playing catch up with them as well as Hearts.
There’s an air of desperation with Celtic right now. We dont appear to have a professional recruitment strategy and alignment with coach and board.
Bringing back kyogo is not forward thinking. His career at Celtic was great but went sour. In attack build up , it usually broke down at kyogo. He is weak and not technically gifted. He is fast and nippy in the box. I’d only bring him in to play alongside a strong centre (Ineacho if fit or someone similar)
Feels like season is done and we are hoping O’Neil and Maloney somehow come up with miracle signings and opportunistic loans.
On a more positive note- MON knows we need power and physicality.
kyogo was not playing particularly well in the Brendan 2nd season formations, but not technically gifted ? for whatever reason he wanted out fast, tittle tattle prevailed, not worth repeating.
He continued to not play well in Rennes and Brum, but still brave and goes up against many a big defender still. He is only 30, he will hit a scoring run again.
he scored some of the best technical goals in Cup Finals and Sevco games as I have seen, if he comes I get behind him. he has unfinished business to get to 100.
If it is Johnny Kenny, I will do the same. Not scoring might be a combination of anxious thought, but he is getting into these positions to miss 2,3,4, a game.
Decision making and composure comes with time. imho
meanwhile – look at these brilliant technical finishes.

Would also take Kyogo, but only on loan, and if his shoulder is OK.with maybe, option to buy.We need players in now a few mentioned, hate the waiting.
Kyogo was absolutely desperate to leave us.
His current form is frankly ” crap”. If true, I hope that whoever is promoting this deal is aware that we have crossed the Rubicon for tolerance

DD is a good example of showing how error at the top ripples throughout the club,it is hard to correct.
He erred bringing BR back
He went against his own board
A season and a bit it took this elite club to realise that error.
Had a tantrum publicly in anger at his own error on our Clubs site, all done in full glare of media, also done with no plan B
MON1 stabilises, organises, set to go again as crisis looks behind.

It is abundantly clear there has been no scouting for any position that we need covered, that does not surprise me at all, the Club is a shambles, only money in the bank matters with the Celtic First Team a much lesser need to be addressed, Kyogo will do what excatly? Anytime I see him with Birmingham his magic has gone.

Hi Big Man!
Yep. A few ex teammates got lucky with tickets. One lad, a bagpiper, has been to every away game since about 1970, which is just incredible. The prices are mind numbing. Hotels and airlines are price gouging. Any hotel within a short distance of any metro in Boston has ramped up their tariffs, and that will be replicated at all venues. There are no games in DC as FedEx stadium was built in 1997 and a 29 year old arena is now considered sub standard. Celtic Park was built in 1892 and is a mere 134 years old!
I went to 6 games in 1994, including 3 in DC, the Italy -Ireland game in NY, the third place Final, and the Brazil-Italy Final in Pasadena. Great experiences, but I didn’t even try for tix this time. I think Scotland will be gubbed 3 times. We finished dead last in every single category at the Euros, and I can’t see any permanent improvement. If Clarke persuades Harvey Barnes ( 2 goals yesterday) to join, that will help.
Hope yer well!

Must be a wavelength thing, celtic40me 😄
Having watched MOTD last night I checked his wiki page.
It struck me that – based on a sustainable model – the ideal time to get this guy would have been before he joined Ludogorets OR one year before the Bruges transfer for a lower fee.
One thing struck me though …
Would he be granted a work permit at that stage?
yeah should be difficult on Saurday paul67
What a rollercoaster – I’d take seeing a smile on the players’ faces.

On the old blog rumoured to be goin to Belguim,C40 saying 2 Saudi clubs in for him.

No wonder they are so quiet, they are exhausted.
