Results watershed points to an obvious problem

139

A team that dropped only two points in 13 games has now dropped a further eight across five games.  That’s a significant change in form over the last three weeks.  We beat Aberdeen 6-0 ahead of the last international break, returned to draw 1-1 with Motherwell, were less then impressive in wins over St Johnstone and Hibs, then lost to Kilmarnock and Hearts.

I think we can all agree that the summer recruitment, which monetarily focussed on central defenders who have scarcely been used, and numerically on wingers, who have failed to inspire, did not compensate for the summer departures.  But that does not explain the watershed either side of the November international break.  A squad that was imperious going into the break looks like it has collectively switched off.

Celtic will doubtlessly sign players in January but if we don’t deal with whatever has been eating the cohesion since the squad reassembled late last month, it will not change the dial.

A week to reset before playing the bottom club in the league is welcome.  Brendan, Callum and the squad have to fix the obvious problem, or no amount of January signings will make any difference.

I do not think the players can be judged until the system changes. The squad do not understand the way Rodgers is setting his team out to play. The biggest dud of the season is kyogo & we all know how great a player he is. I don’t think anyone knows that, to be fair.

I was delighted when the brodge returned but, I just cannot foresight a BR2 & Celtic success story.

However bad we are at present, I believe that most of the squad are better than what they are showing. Barring Scales & O’Riley, everywhere player has regressed

When BR agreed to come back you would expect him to have the conversation with DD and or PL and or Nicholson about incoming players

As he took the job you can assume he was given the answers he wanted to hear

Quality players to challenge in Europe

IF that conversation took place then you would have sympathy for BR. As no Quality arrived

IF that conversation did not take place then BR is a bit of a fool for taking the job and assuming quality would arrive. All on CQN can confirm we are in the market for projects ironically with a project scout ML

Surely BR came back because he was given assurances, some sort of confirmation that we wanted to move up a gear

Seriously can you not make and comment unless it’s taken the wrong way. What about the poor little players feeling that the manager might want a few who are more skilled than them – careful you may lose the dressing room??? Again absolute garbage – managers are asked all sorts by media, should they refuse to answer in case didums gets a petted lip?? “ no I don’t want any new players cause all the ones I have are amazing and I couldn’t possibly improve on them” said no manager EVER…

Some stuff that doesn’t make sense

At worst we have a board that lied to BR

At best we have a naive manager

Either way we are not all going in the same direction

The summer recruitment of cheap shitey projects is what has killed team morale. Not Brendan.

Imagine being Calmac, MoR or CCV looking forward to the quality additions coming in over the summer to make an impact in Europe, then getting introduced to a player from the second tier of the K league and a wee boy from Oz wae a bowl cut!

Palma has been a decent buy possibly the best summer buy.

Most commonly used phrase in football these day “throwing players under a bus” – what absolute garbage. You are accused of it if you don’t praise spoilt millionaire footballers who fail to show up or sometimes even try absolute p!sh. – “we didn’t defend set plays well today” = manager throws defence under the bus” “ our finishing wasn’t good enough today” = manage throws strikers under a bus”

Ok there was a barren spell from 19 October 1957 until April 24, 1965, but this was during a period when Bob embarked on a campaign to raise our own players, the media labelled them the Kelly Kids, and on May 25 1967, led by the coach of those young lads, 8 of them played football the Glasgow Celtic way in Lisbon on the Feast Day of Corpus Christi.

A weak Wishy Washy midfield who are being pushed further and further back,

both full backs off form – and thats being kind to them,

The Back up Squad – LagerBielke, Nawrocki, Kobayashi, Bernabei, Holm, McCarthy, Kwon, Tomoki, Yang, Tilio – Apart from LagerBielke what have any of them done?

Big Joe – has he had his day?

Our manager – Brendan – whats up with him? Maybe the above,

Last but not least – the reappearance of Mikey Johnston,
