RETURN OF AN INVINCIBLE?

ERIK SVIATCHENKO, who left Celtic in 2018, is being linked with a sensational return as part of the club’s summer revamp.

The 29-year-old Danish central defender is reported to be in new boss Ange Postecoglou’s potential wanted list, according to the Daily Record.

Sviatchenko is currently playing with Midtjylland, who will in the Champions League second qualifying draw this morning alongside the Parkhead side.

The international stopper became an Invincible in Brendan Rodgers’ first season in 2016/17 and picked up two Premiership titles, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups before returning to Denmark in a loan deal which was then made permanent in a £1million switch.

Sviatchenko has always insisted he has “unfinished business” at Celtic and the way could now be open for a dramatic comeback to Glasgow.

Postecoglou is aware the Hoops are short of cover in the middle of the rearguard and it is almost certain Kristoffer Ajer will be on his way after declaring his desire to quit the club despite still having a year to run on his contract.

Sviatchenko was bought by Ronny Deila in January 2016 for £1.5million from his current Danish club.

Now it looks like he is about to stage a remarkable action replay.
