GIORGOS GIAKOUMAKIS is on alert to face St Mirren in the Premiership at Parkhead tonight.
Ange Postecoglou has intimated there will be changes from the side that endured 96 minutes of torrential rain in monsoon conditions during the 2-0 win over Kilmarnock at Hampden on Saturday.
The Greek striker replaced Kyogo Furuhashi in the 74th minute and rolled in the second goal to seal a Viaplay League Cup Final place against Michael Beale’s Ibrox outfit on Sunday, February 26.
READY FOR ACTION…Giorgos Giakoumakis could face St Mirren at Parkhead tonight.
In the midst of intense transfer speculation during this window, there is no guarantee Giakoumakis will be a Celtic player by the time the derby showpiece takes place.
However, he may be given the opportunity tonight by Postecoglou to score his first goal against the Paisley side after firing blanks in previous outings.
Giakoumakis’ last start for the Hoops was the 4-2 win over Dundee United in Glasgow on November 5.
The provisional squad, as revealed in the Daily Record, for a revenge mission against the only Scottish club to defeat the champions this season is:
