REVEALED: JULLIEN ON STAND-BY

1

CHRISTOPHER JULLIEN is standing by to make his second Celtic first-team appearance in 15 months at some stage of the crucial Premiership encounter with St Mirren at Parkhead tonight.

The towering French centre-back was welcomed back to the top side as a late substitute in the 4-0 Scottish Cup win over Championship outfit Raith Rovers in Glasgow last month.

It was his first outing since his sickening collision with a goal post in the 3-0 victory over Dundee United on December 30 which required knee surgery and forced the £7million buy from Toulouse in the summer of 2019 onto the sidelines for an excruciating length of time.

Ange Postecoglou has been careful not to rush the 28-year-old defender, but there could be a chance of another run-out if things are going according to plan against the Paisley outfit who were hammered 6-0 at the same venue in August.

However, the Saints earned a point the last time the sides met just before Christmas.

The Hoops go into the match three points ahead at the Premiership pinnacle with 10 games still to play.
