If my memory was sharper, I would be able to tell you when Celtic went 18 months without being awarded a penalty in domestic football (they were awarded in Europe during this spell). When the ‘anomaly’ was uncovered, it made news across all media for a few days.
There must have been a sharp intake of breath when referees read that stat. Analysis reset the threshold and next game out Celtic won a penalty (a foul on Neil Lennon comes to mind).
Newco are the only team in the Premiership not to have a penalty awarded against them this season, an exceptional situation 20 games in. It is an accumulation of hundreds of decisions by many officials, all coming up blue.
Steven McLean will be in charge of their next game, away to Dundee United on Sunday, the man who reinvented the handball and red card rules in the 2015 Scottish Cup semi-final. With Celtic 1-0 ahead, Leigh Griffiths beat the keeper, but Inverness defender Josh Meekings was on the line and made a save with his hand.
A penalty and red card should have been awarded, instead, play was waved on. As well as an assistant, McLean had a ‘Fifth official’ behind the goal to collude with, none was prepared to take action. In a storied history of referee decisions against Celtic, this one surely ranks in the top three.
McLean later red carded Celtic keeper Craig Gordon and awarded a penalty which took Inverness to extra-time, where the man advantage proved sufficient to send Celtic out of the Cup. Far from being demoted, the following year, McLean accepted a fulltime appointment in the SFA’s refereeing setup and was awarded the Scottish Cup Final.
Would you bet on the current Newco penalty stat coming to an end at Tannadice on Sunday? I think it’s a stick-on if Newco are a couple of goals ahead.

AT,
For bugs sake. There’s far too much information on the stealth privatisation of the Scottish NHS to link on here. I would be here for yonks
It is factual and a 2 second Google search will provide a plethora of info for your perusal
I’m currently sitting in a quaint little boozer in Bruges about to visit the spooky gothic Catholic Church. Mrs GP is already going tonto about me on the fone.
Cheers and HH.

A fine looking selection. Is the already good but now much improved Taylor not available?
Gotta love the UK Unionists, like the SFA’S Refereeing Department, they’ll (Tory/Labour) never give up hope in Scotland!
NHS England in operation
My mother in law had a stroke whilst in hospital – she underwent a series of MRI scans whilst there.
She was discharged to her home after about a fortnight. There was a care package lasting 3 weeks of 2 visits a day put in place. My wife stayed with her overnight but had little or no sleep for about 3 weeks. No social worker was assigned to her case. In desperation we put her in a care home at £1,125 per week for respite. She’s been there for 4 weeks and still hasn’t been assessed – we can afford 1 more week.
The doctor phoned us yesterday to confirm that the scans taken umpteen weeks ago clearly show vascular dementia. So the hospital new this when discharging her but said nothing. She also had a cannula still in her foot when discharged.
There is no way she can look after herself at home.
The NHS will not be fixed until social care is sorted.

That awkward moment when someone on a Celtic forum tries to use the anti Celtic bias of the SFA to garner support for Scottish independence.
Sorry, RED TORY WATCH JUST POPPED UP.
OUTA HERE.
On the “Bug” thing.Just which players looked to be off it a bit.
Hart No
Johnston No
CCV No
Starfelt No
Calmac No
Hatate No
Kyogo No
Maeda No
Taylor No
O Riley Yes
Forrest Yes
JJ Yes.
SUBS, Mooy,Jota,Gio,all came on and showed No signs of anything.
My point is,there are many fans who think Ange is like the Pope, infallible.Like the Pope,he is not.He made a bit of an arse of the team selection, and this nonsense has been brought out as a reason.
The players many thought should not have played,O Riley, and Forrest were very poor.O Riley, poor in the 4 games leading up to this one.Mooy and Jota / Abada should have been the picks. His substitution, leaving his LB on the bench and putting JJ there,is to be honest, bizarre.
Not a mention of a Bug anywhere,no one looked affected, full bench,Subs fine when they came on.

Think a Hammy was confirmed so reckon he’s out

Didn’t do enough in IMO
I need to check my privelege.
To do what Andy?
Your invention- being transphobic – does not exist.
No matter how many times you rethread your head in your bottom,it wont,it never has and it never will, primarily as it is only a factor in your head.
You take ìt easy

Sadly, the NHS is doomed. No one can save it.
That very awkward moment when the leader of the Labour Party,is as big a Bawbag,as the leader of the Tory Party.
At the British don’t have a leader who said the following things:-
‘Tiny Tim should have got a job’
‘What is the big issue with young people and the property ladder? Just borrow the deposit off your parents’
Leo Varadkar
How anyone would think that O’Riley is worthy of a start on Saturday, after his performance on Monday and the previous weeks, is baffling.
All about opinions I suppose.
If all fit (except Taylor and Ralston)

GREENPINATA
The Beer Wall is well worth a visit, with a fine selection of very strong, delicious beers on draft at the end of it. Gouden Carolus was my favourite, heavy luggage on trip home.
AT.
Telling it as I see it.
Anything wrong with that.
GREENPINATA
Stay away from the strong beers , especially the one called ‘ talking piss’ – at least that’s what happens after a couple of pints.
What do you mean I always talk piss.
AT
Thanks for your concern – it’s a real nightmare and an expensive one
It just should not be news to anyone at all, Huns control the SFA, no argument.
Something which has bugged me for yonks is that they only admit 700 Celtic fans to Greyskull.
Surely the SFA ” Fair Play” should enforce and tell them straight this is incorrect and totally wrong.
Sure we reciprocated , rightly but somewhat childish I feel, but two wrongs do not make a right.
Seriously pissed off with Scottish football.
Cannot Eufa or even FIFA do something about this shit
KINGLuBO
Same as Coneybhoy 3.36.
Difference is that big John Kennedy told me the team in Sharkeys last night.
Sorry to hog things, but does anybody agree maybe we should try Daizen and Kyogo jointly up front with Jota and Abada on the wings.
Looks f good to wee me

I’m happy that we can make two or three changes from the under-performing Ibrox squad and still be good enough to see off Lillie at CP.
My prediction- Rocco Vata will open his Celtic scoring account late in the 2nd half.
Ladies and Gentlemen, a last reminder that the Shipbank Shipwrecks are meeting tomorrow 12pm onwards. Come along, have fun and let the good times roll.
BTB,
Sorry. I was just scunnered by Starmer totally ignoring Scotland being told they had to vote no to Independence in the Referendum in order to stay in the EU and then England voting to leave. Now Starmer. who was a remainer, opts to stay with Brexit in order to get elected.
I am not particularly enarmoured of the SNP but I have had more than enough of Scotland being cast aside by English politicians. I have a fear too of the Scottish Establishment’s inherent anti-Catholic/anti-Irish bias.
its snake mountain, how many times

To be fair to Starmer, he was talking today about what is in his hands if he becomes PM. Scotland and Wales devolved (NI no idea where they are at), so it England which is directly run from Westminster he is looking at.
There is no way UK can afford to reverse Brexit and EU may say no. A ‘once in a generation’ decision
Why are the bars at Celtic Park not opened earlier? Quite scandalous.
SFTB
I’ll give you that T.🤣
