Rhetorical magic from old Lumley-troubler

1149

Old Lumley-troubled used a classic rhetorical technique yesterday. Give your target audience lots of points to consider which you know they will agree with; build empathy, get heads nodding, fists banging on tables, then slip in the line you are trying to sell. As a piece of prose, you have to respect the statement. This guy, or his writer, has not only read the Greeks, he’s understood their importance.

If Sir David is right, Rangers issued no side contracts, all non-discretionary payments to players in connection to football were registered, if the redacted contract which appeared in The Sun in March was a piece of fiction, if the prima facie evidence presented by Duff and Phelps was an error, he and his soon to be liquidated former club have nothing to worry about.

Glad to hear it, I thought you were still using carrier pigeons to communicate :-)

    When are you through next?

  2. Good player Sandaza – will do a good job for the huns I am sure. they are clearly assembling a (relatively expensive) squad that is miles too good for division3.

    Luxcelt,

O know his is not the only way to do it, and there are many many more successful managers who dont do it his way, what is laughable is trying to tell me its his way or the highway, simply because thats your opinion.

Do you prefer Sandaza to Paddy McCourt?

  6. “If we just defend and search for the one goal, that could be dangerous,” added Muurinen, who will be without injured striker Juho Mäkelä. “In the first leg the last 20 minutes were difficult for us and we saw that we need to keep the ball more.”

Interesting that Kyle’s last game was in 2011. Within that figure you will find the single-digit amount of games he will play this season.

We used to look to Ross Hall for new signings getting medicals. They loook to Ross Hall and trawl the wards.

Think some of you are missing the point re sevco

they enter div three in breach of all rules

they change the names of rfc and sevco and switch

they gain an sfa membership in breach of all rules

they get a transfer embargo post dated that allows them to sign players.

they start signing spl players so will romp div three now

    league reconstruction to come

the company switch and sfa membership allows them to claim rfc history

    they are debt free

at what point do you think ANY punishment will be applied?

at what point do you expect them to have died?

remember this is a sting. Let me know when you feel stung. By that point it is usually to late!

  11. There will be plenty of wee places fearing a riot this season…

EXTRA time will be sought by licensing chiefs who have been barred from deciding on a possible punishment for an Inverness pub which let 150 football supporters illegally drink before Caley Thistle played Rangers in a crunch SPL match.

The Chieftain Hotel avoided its licence coming under review at a Highland Licensing Board meeting today because councillors had run out of time to debate the serious breach of its conditions in February.

The board now hopes to revisit the incident in the autumn if Northern Constabulary will resubmit a letter of complaint.

The Millburn Road bar’s landlady Elizabeth Lawson admitted to police letting Rangers supporters into the premises to drink from 11am on Sunday 26th February before the televised match.

That was an hour-and-a-half before the pub’s licence to sell alcohol starts – but Mrs Lawson told the officers she had feared “a riot” if she had turned the fans away.

Officers estimated that 150 people were in or outside the premises at 11.30am, with a fleet of coaches and mini-buses parked up.

It isn’t my opinion, and I never said it was. However – I would bet my mortgage that Wenger knows more about modern football than you do. I commented on McCourt’s body shape – and you took the p1ss. I pointed out that Wenger takes the same line of thought (he wouldn’t touch somebody like mccourt) and you started going on about his trophy haul…..

I used Wenger’s stance to support my own argument – a position you (the great fountain of football knowledge) thought was laughable.

I know – but a squad like that will still blow away anything in SFL2. they must be paying more wages than anyone apart from Celtic? I suspect they have been given the nod re some kind of restructuring/SPL2 for 2013.

and it is a laugh, wenger’s trophy haul is very relevant, ask swalex, his choices have over all been a failure, regardless of how much he makes, he is not a successful manager. As many of his equations fail as make it, and they rarely win anything.

why is kevan kyle a celtic supporter signing for them. and why has zandanza changed his mind .why are they being allowed to sign for them.

Cash i would guess. Interestingly they must be offering more now (in D3) than they offered Sandaza in the SPL, as he knocked them back previously, and the rumour was that St Johnstone was paying more than the old hun regime. Cash has certainly been found somewhere now though – income streams are far from guaranteed at the moment.

Not only that, you profess to have the same ability as wenger, in that you can tell whose body shape is acceptable, good to see I am being recognised for the knowledge I posess, cheers :o)

Stewart reagan hasn’t got a clue, i wouldn’t take anything he says seriously. He said in an interview last week he didn’t know if Sevco were keeping Oldco’s history.

League reconstruction will be agreed this season to come into affect next season. Any reconstruction will allow Sevco to play in the 2nd tier, whatever that may be called, so they will only spend 2 years outwith the top flight (providing they are successful on the park).

I think Paddy’s shape is good in comparison to Hooper, Commons, Forrest or Emelio for starters.

My problem with him is he gives away possession too often for success in the modern game.

Neil himself was no Adonis but his pass completion ratio was excellent.

Pass completion =success in the modern game
