We can convince ourselves we have players who can fill the right back role, and this may be true for a few more weeks, but Mikael Lustig was one of the frailties that cost us against AEK last August, and we don’t even have him now.
So far the transfer window has gone well, but a team is as well as its weakest link. Failure to get a right back who can stop crosses into the box has to be avoided.
That night in Athens is all the motivation we should need.

We scour the planet for a centre back (and England for a right back) yet it sounds like we are about to lose 16 year-old Liam Morrison to Bayern Munich. What chance have we got? I know we do likewise e.g. Luca Connell but I just don’t get it. I’m assuming Liam Morrison might come from a supposed ‘Celtic minded’ family, yet he/they opt to leave before even playing one game. Going by many of the comments on here regardsour signings,or lack of them,depending on who you read,it seems the vast majority are ignoring Neils comments on the transfer issue.Speaking common sense,from someone who is actually there at the business end of things,as Neil is,and has been,does not seem to be what a good few want to hear.
Reading some of the comments,it strikes me that so many seem to have no idea what is involved in signing a player.Lenny explains it very well in his latest piece.An exhausting 4 hour meeting,with 2 positions being discussed,about the various players being considered,just the tip of the iceberg.For some time I have ignored the gibberish being spouted by the so called experts,alleged proffesional ones I mean,and have just decided to be patient,put my trust in Lenny.If I am going to be pissed off,it will be at the end of the window.No point in being pissed of about things now,when so much can still happen.

Losing Liam Morrison to a football giant opens up a completely new development in our planning.
