ROBBIE 1 RANGERS 0

FORMER Celtic loan striker Robbie Keane guided Ferencvaros to a 2-1 Europea League triumph over Rangers in Budapest this evening.

The Republic of Ireland international legend saw his side come back from a goal down to leave the Ibrox outfit staring at European oblivion with just one point from six games in the competition.

Keane piled on the misery in the Hungarian capital as his team remained unbeaten and on course for the later stages of the tournament.

The hosts had Danny Rohl’s Govan club on the backfoot in the early stages, but missed two glorious chances through Dele Yusuf inside 18 minutes.

The Ibrox side survived and took the lead through an acrobatic effort from Bojan Miovski in the 28th minute. It was checked for offside by VAR, but the strike was given in an extremely tight margin.

However, that was wiped out in first-half stoppage-time when Bence Otvos swept in a low 16-yard drive after good service from the right.

And Hungary’s top striker Barnabas Varga showed his prowess in the penalty box when he rose to a left-wing cross to thump a six-yard header past the stranded Jack Butland for a 73rd-minute winner.
