ROBBO’S GOOD LUCK WISHES FOR CELT

KIERAN TIERNEY will make the right choice as the transfer saga over his future heads towards England’s transfer deadline day a week on Thursday.

Liverpool’s Scotland skipper Andy Robertson is backing his international team-mate to make the correct call.

Tierney, of course, has been linked with Arsenal for the past five weeks with the Hoops hierarchy refusing to sell the 22-year-old left-back, rated in the £25million range, until they are satisfied with the terms of any submission.

Italian outfit Napoli, according to Head Coach Carlo Ancelotti, will not be making a move for the fans’ favourite, as CQN reported earlier this morning.

But Roberston, who started his career as a youth at Parkhead before being allowed to leave and join Queen’s Park in 2009, is in no doubt KT will continue to show his undoubted class no matter where he is plying his trade in the new season.

TWO OF A KIND…Andy Robertson and Kieren Tierney get set for international duty.

The Champions League-winning defender, speaking to Sky Sports News, insisted: “I’ve played with KT for Scotland and he’s played right-back and centre-back. I’ve watched him and he’s a very good footballer.

“Last season, he obviously had his injury problems.

“Whatever happens with KT is up to him and the people around him.

“He’ll make the right choice. He’s a Celtic boy through and through and you can’t take that away from him.

“Let’s see how it unfolds. Good luck to him whatever he does.”

Tierney has made only nine starts for the Hoops in 2019 and he has missed the start of the season as he has fought to overcome pelvic problems following a double hernia operation in the summer.
