SCOTTISH Cup Final referee Don Roberson will be in charge in Celtic’s Premiership opener against St Mirren at Parkhead on Sunday.
The champions will be hoping the match official is not a bad omen after they saw the opportunity of a ninth treble in the club’s glorious history scuppered at Hampden on May 24 after Aberdeen won 5-3 in the penalty-kick shoot-out.
However, to balance that disappointment, Robertson was also the referee when Brendan Rodgers’ men sealed their fourth successive title with a runaway 5-0 triumph over Dundee United at Tannadice on April 26.

YELLOW PERIL…referee Don Robertson books Cameron Carter-Vickers.
On what is becoming an annual event after thirteen crowns in 14 years, the whistler will be assisted on Flag Day by David Dunne and Craig Ferguson on the lines and Greg Aitken will be on VAR duty.
Robertson was tasked with 23 Premiership games last term, including six involving Celtic and two with St Mirren.
Kieran Tierney, returning after his six-year absence at Arsenal, and versatile Swedish forward Benjamin Nygren, a £1.7million summer arrival, are standing by for their competitive debuts while the Paisley outfit have already won three of their four Premier Sports League Cup outings.
Robertson dished out 84 yellow cards in the league last season and he booked Hoops centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers and Dons skipper Graeme Shinnie after a skirmish in the Cup Final
