ROBERTSON IN CONTROL

DON ROBERTSON will be in control of Celtic’s Scottish Cup quarter-final at Ibrox on Sunday.

The referee will be flanked by touchline assistants Ross Macleod and David Roome while Andrew Dallas will be in charge of VAR, assisted by Matthew MacDermid.

Robertson was the man entrusted with the whistle in the Glasgow derby in Govan late August when the champions and the hosts were involved in a dismal scoreless stalemate.

I’M IN CHARGE…referee Don Robertson.

In the intervening months, both clubs have changed their managers, Danny Rohl taking over from the sacked Russell Martin at Ibrox while Martin O’Neill is now in his second interim period following the resignation of Brendan Rodgers in late October.

In between, the Hoops endured 33 disastrous days with French flop Wilfried Nancy at the helm, a lamentable period in which the Hoops dropped TWELVE league points from a possible 18, lost the Premier Sports League Cup Final to St Mirren and were humbled 3-0 at home by AS Roma.

Robertson officiated in the champions’ opening-day 1-0 win over the Paisley side on August 3 and followed that up by overseeing the Hoops’ 4-0 win over Kilmarnock in November and then their 2-1 home defeat to Hearts in Nancy’s first game in his brief stay in the east end of Glasgow.
