Aberdeen last beat Celtic in May 2018, the final game of a league season that saw Celtic win their 7th consecutive title and a result that was required for the visitors to finish second in the table. Since then, the teams have met 20 times, with the Pittodrie side avoiding defeat on only three occasions.
Recent games have been an exercise in Celtic only just getting the job done. A 2-0 win on the opening day of the season was the solitary occasion more than a goal has separated the sides in the last 8 outings.
The world changed for Aberdeen on one of those games. The last time the sides met, in December, an 87th minute Callum McGregor strike turned a potential backs-to-the-wall draw into a dispiriting defeat for manager Jim Goodwin. After that, the roof caved in. Home and away defeats to St Mirren paled into insignificant to the 5-0 and 6-0 drubbings at Hearts and Hibs, either side of the Scottish Cup exit at Darvel.
Goodwin made way for Barry Robson as interim manager. A 3-1 win in their last game, against Motherwell, kept them within a point of the top six, and led to Steven Hammell’s losing his Motherwell job. No Celtic fans were surprised fortunes picked up when Barry took control. His grit and professional pride will be out toughest obstacle tomorrow. Celtic Park has seen its share of his talent.

Feel a full stand of safe standing is to much to ask for when it includes returning the current safe standing area back into normal seating. Better to grow safe standing out (each side) from the north curve (perhaps 1000 each side) and build from there. Easier to get buy in from supporters and the board and to allow gradual change rather than forcing it.

If there was an appetite among fans and it was technically feasible … I’d suggest safe standing in 2 other corners.
(The fourth corner is for away fans. Wouldn’t consider for a second accommodating them).
No evidence at all to back up my suggestion but getting that bounce, refrain, echo (and, frankly, competition) in 3 separate sections would, IMHO, enhance the overall atmosphere across the stadium.
It’s been a little bit quiet in other parts of the stadium during a game – I assume because the GB don’t let up and other sections are getting used to them doing all the heavy lifting.
BTW – I believe the current safe standing section capacity is 2,800 ?
The other two sections needn’t be as big.
As a total punt?
1,400 in each could possibly meet demand and minimise relocation inconvenience while being big enough to generate some serious sounds.

With all due respect GFTB, Ive been a customer of BET365 for several years now, and they ALWAYS LIST Players from Celtic and other SPL Clubs whenever a game is on. Due to the speculation that took place this week, regarding KYOGOs Fitness for Todays game, I would have thought that speculation was chucked out when ANGE declared yesterday that KYOGO is ” Fit and good to go” ?
