BRENDAN RODGERS has been hit by a suspended one-game touchline ban by UEFA.

The Celtic boss was deemed to have played a part in delaying the start of his side’s Champions League last-16 game against Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena last month.

An advisory from European football’s governing body stated the Irishman had been sanctioned for an offence relating to a “late kick-off” in the tense encounter that ended in a 1-1 draw with the hosts claiming a 3-2 aggregate win with practically the last kick of the ball by Alphonse Davies.

The visitors had led through a goal by Nicolas Kuhn and the tie was heading for extra-time before a clearance from Cameron Carter-Vickers unfortunately ricocheted off the Canadian international and swept past the grounded Kasper Schmeichel.

The Hoops had lost 2-1 in the first leg at Parkhead with Harry Kane claiming the clincher.

Celtic were also fined £8,340 for the incident in the Bavarian capital.

There was also another financial punishment of £7,505 for “blocking of public passageways” by fans in the match in Glasgow.
