CELTIC boss Brendan Rodgers insists Tom Rogic can develop into one of the best midfielders in Europe.
The Australian international ace is back in the champions’ squad for tonight’s Premiership meeting with Partick Thistle at Parkhead.
Rogic hasn’t played this year and last figured in the 2-1 win over Dundee on December 17.
He underwent an ankle operation in February having suffered a recurrence of an injury in training.
The 24-year-old scored 10 goals prior to being crocked and Rodgers reckons he will give the treble-chasing Hoops a boost for the crucial run-in to the campaign.
The Hoops gaffer was delighted to announce: “Tom is back in the squad. The Magic Man is back – what a player.
“He’s an amazing performer and I think he can grow into one of the top midfielders in Europe.
“You saw him grow in the Champions league. You saw him against Manchester City and just purr at his quality.
“That’s what he can develop into – there’s no doubt he’s top class.
“He’s a good boy, too, and devoted to his profession. He’s a key player.
“There was a big disappointment when he got injured because the week building up to it he was amazing.
“Top players know where there is space and he’s as good as any I’ve seen at finding space.
“What he needed to do was gain intensity and strength and gain more end product and he did all of that up until he got injured.
“He’s a great lift for us in this last 10 games.”
