RODGERS ‘HOPEFUL’ OVER KT

CELTIC boss Brendan Rodgers is hopeful Kieran Tierney will be fit and available after the international break.

The full-back, who played his 53rd game of the season at Ibrox nine days ago, missed yesterday’s stalemate against Motherwell after struggling with a calf complaint.

Tierney is out of Scotland friendlies against Costa Rica at Hampden on Friday and Hungary in Budapest four days later, but Rodgers is confident that the defender will return against Ross County on March 31.

Rodgers said: “He had a slight issue with his calf towards the end of last week. It wasn’t quite right.

“He couldn’t play against Motherwell and we’ll see how he is for Ross County.

“However, he will not be going with Scotland.”

As CQN reported last night, Jack Hendry, the Hoops’ January signing from Dundee, has been called up by international gaffer Alex McLeish.
