JAMIE CARRAGHER has hailed Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers as the best of British.
The former England centre-back played at Liverpool for two years while the Irishman was gaffer at Anfield.
Rodgers led the Merseyside outfit to the brink of the Premier League title in 2014, the closest any manager has come to winning the league for the Reds in quarter of a century.
And the ex-defender insists there is no better British boss.
Kop legend Carragher was quizzed on the merits of Rodgers and current manager Jurgen Klopp.
He eventually chose the German. but also praised his ex-boss’ record.
Asked if Rodgers would top a list when a top four job becomes available, Carragher replied: “Yes, he’s the best British manager out there.
“Remember, he came closer than anyone to winning a league title.”
