RODGERS IS ON THE MONEY AS CELTIC KNOCK BACK £3m

1
CELTIC have rejected a ridiculously low £3million bid from Chelsea for goalkeeper Craig Gordon – as Brendan Rodgers forecast in CQN this morning.
The English Premier League leaders targeted the 34-year-old Hoops No.1 with their reserve shotstopper, Asmir Begovic, eager to join Bournemouth for £10million.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte needs experienced cover for Thibaut Courtois before agreeing to a sale.
Gordon has been in inspired form for the Hoops this season, rejuvenating a career that looked to be in jeopardy when he was sidelined through injury for two years.
Gaffer Rodgers insisted the London side were wasting their time bothering making a move for the Scotland international.
Now Chelsea know they will have to look elsewhere for a deputy to Courtois.
Eduardo Carvalho, who moved to Stamford Bridge in the summer and has yet to play for the Blues, is Conte’s only other senior goalkeeper and is not a viable option for the second-choice slot.
But that’s their problem.
