RODGERS LINKED WITH AMERICAN MIDFIELDER FLORES

BRENDAN RODGERS has been linked with a January loan move for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Junior Flores.
The American-born playmaker was a target for the Celtic boss when he was in charge at Liverpool in 2014.
However, Flores decided to snub the opportunity to go to Anfield to agree a three-year deal with the Bundesliga giants, who were managed at the time by Jurgen Klopp, now, of course, gaffer of the Merseyside outfit.
The 20-year-old attacking midfield man is now is in the last six months of of his contract in Germany.
Rodgers has kept tabs on Flores, who has failed to make an impact at Dortmund. He injured an ankle in August which didn’t help his case.
Dortmund now appear to be ready to cut their losses on the player and would let him leave on a temporary deal next month and release him when his contract expires in the summer.
That has alerted Rodgers along with a host of MLS clubs who are keen to bring the Los Angeles-born player back to his homeland.
*BERTIE AULD has signed a limited number of copies of That Season in Paradise – Ten Months of Celtic Heaven for CQN. These are available on a first come first served basis now from www.cqnbookstore.com but hurry as they are going fast!
