CELTIC are poised to hand Brendan Rodgers £15million as they gear up for the crucial Champions League qualifiers in the summer.
The Hoops boss is determined to strengthen his squad, with his priorities a central defender and an offensive midfielder.
And Rodgers realises he will have to replace the goal threat of Patrick Roberts on the right-hand side of the attack if the winger returns on a permanent basis to Manchester City after his 18-month temporary deal at the champions.
The Parkhead gaffer is looking at players rated in the £4/£5million bracket.
Committing himself to a new four-year contract, Rodgers has outlined a desire to reach the latter stages of Europe’s elite competition within three seasons.
Qualifiers for next season’s competition begin on July 12 and Rodgers has already backed new Head of Recruitment Lee Congerton to secure the players he needs.
He said: “There is talent out there and we will always look to get it. Plus, as a Celtic supporter, I know what they want.
“Hence the reason I brought in Scott Sinclair, who gets them up off their seat. We’ll be looking for that.
“There will always be a ceiling, I respect that. It’s not an open cheque book, but I feel the board will always do everything they possibly can to get the right type of players in that we want.
“I’ve had those conversations, we know exactly where we are with all of that.”
