JAMIE VARDY is on the brink of signing for Serie A new boys Cremonese which will end all speculation of an unlikely reunion with Brendan Rodgers at Celtic.
The veteran striker, who will be 39 in January, has been a free agent since his contract at Leicester City expired at the end of a season in which the Midlands club were relegated from the Premier League.
Persistent reports of a switch to the champions have popped up every now and again, but there was NEVER the remotest likelihood of the former England international getting a two-year deal at Parkhead, as CQN pointed out earlier this month.

EAR WE GO…Jamie Vardy is heading to Serie A new boys Cremonese.
Instead, it has been revealed that Vardy has been in “intense negotiations” with Cremonese, according to Football Italia.
The newly-promoted side, who opened their league campaign with a shock 2-1 win over Luca Modric’s AC Milan at the San Siri at the weekend, are hopeful of getting the move sealed within the next 72 hours.
Vardy scored 145 goals in 342 Premier League appearances for the King Power outfit before quitting in the summer.
