‘RODGERS WASTING HIS TIME AT CELTIC’

BRENDAN RODGERS will be wasting his time at Celtic if he remains at the champions for a third season.

That’s the controversial view of talkSPORT radio presenter Jim White aka known as Jim Blue-Red-And-White.

And the Scot also believes the Irishman would be the perfect fit for Arsenal with long-serving boss Arsene Wenger under fire for the London side’s abysmal performance in the 3-0 League Cup Final defeat against Manchester City on Sunday.

The Hoops gaffer is reported to be on a seven-man list of candidates who will be considered for the post if the French veteran is axed in the summer.

And White, who also anchors Sky Sports News, risked furious feedback from the Parkhead fans this morning when he said Rodgers and the Gunners are a perfect fit.

The former Liverpool chief led Celtic to an Invincible treble last season and is on course to complete another clean sweep in his second term.

White said: “Surely Brendan Rodgers would be the perfect fit for Arsenal.

“It would be the perfect time for him. Would Brendan not be wasting his time spending another year in Scotland?

“I think he’d be wasting his time staying at Celtic. He’s won everything. He’s proved himself up there.

“I know Celtic fans will be saying: ‘That’s Jim White wearing his Rangers hat again’. But it has nothing to do with that.”

As well as Rodgers, former Gunners midfielder Mikel Arteta is also being linked with the job after impressing as a coach to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

Wenger, 68, still has another year left on his £8million-a-year contract and it’s understood he is determined not to quit and wants to see out the final year.
