ROGIC: ‘A BIT OF WORK TO DO’

TOM ROGIC has “a bit of work to do” as he attempts to catch up with his Celtic team-mates.

The Australian international midfielder has yet to kick a ball in the pre-season work-outs or the two Champions League qualifiers against FK Sarajevo.

Rogic has struggled since the turn of the year when he returned from international duty after sustaining a knee injury. The elegant playmaker flitted in and out of the team in the rundown to the end of a historic campaign.

Neil Lennon gave him the nod ahead of Olivier Ntcham for the Scottish Cup Final against Hearts on May 25 when a double from Odsonne Edouard gave the Hoops the silverware and sealed the unprecedented treble treble.

However, Rogic limped off with an ankle knock in the 70th minute and it has proved to be problematic throughout the summer. He is eager to get back into first-team action and the Parkhead gaffer offered an update on his condition.

Lennon, speaking to the Daily Record, said: “He is in rehab. Obviously, from the knee injury last season and he picked up an ankle knock in the Cup Final.

“He’s back out now, he looks great, really looking in good condition, so, hopefully,he won’t be too far away.

“But he has missed the whole of pre-season, so he has a bit of work to do.”
