ROGIC KEEN TO STAY

TOM ROGIC  was moved to issue a statement yesterday to clarify his position after unfounded transfer speculation in the MSM.
The Australian international midfielder, who has just returned to the Celtic squad after injury, has yet to put pen to paper after negotiations began in November.GpXIMvSBfytII8WPXhHI19pJjKMMtuWorA-JhQuBHus
However, the 23-year-old playmaker, who cost £400,000 when he joined from Central Coast Mariners in January 2013, insisted he hopes the situation will be resolved sooner rather than later.
Rogic still has 15 months of his current deal to run. He said: “I am really enjoying my time at Celtic and I am proud to be part of such a great football club.

“I want to extend my contract with Celtic. I am speaking to the club just now and, hopefully, this will be agreed very soon.”

Rogic has scored seven goals from 29 appearances this season, but has missed the last two games because of an ankle problem.

However, he is back in training and could be in the squad to face Dundee at Parkhead tomorrow night.

Boss Ronny Deial added: “We are working on getting it renewed and he is in our plans for the future. That’s what we hope.”
CQN ran an ‘exclusive’ yesterday morning saying that there was no new Rogic news.
