‘ROGIC MUST STAY WITH CELTIC,’ AUSSIE BOSS

CELTIC’S in-form midfielder Tom Rogic has been urged to reject any big-money moves into the English Premier League and stay with the champions – by his Australian boss.
Socceroos Head Coach Ange Postecoglou reckons the 24-year-old playmaker can continue to improve under Brendan Rodgers at Parkhead and be a special talent in Scotland.
He said: “The key for Tommy is that he just keeps progressing. I know he’s happy at Celtic.
“And, of course, Celtic are a big club, they play in the Champions League and they’re doing really well in their domestic league.
“So, if that continues and he keeps progressing, he’ll be doing fine.”
Rogic has fitted in well to Rodgers’ system and become a key Hoops player in the Irishman’s debut season in charge of his boyhood idols.
The Aussie – daubed ‘The Wizard of Oz’ – has already scored 10 goals this term – the same total as the whole of last season.
Rogic will not feature in today’s lunchtime match on Hamilton’s plastic pitch but should be back ready for selection for the home match against Ross County. He will be ready for Hogmanay.
