I’ve been slow to catch onto the Tom Rogic bandwagon but his performance yesterday marks a new level of attainment. After some fleeting appearances in the months following his arrival at the club as a 20-year-old, Rogic dropped off the radar. A loan return to Australia and a number of injuries meant he went close to two years without playing for Celtic before his return to the team last month. I’d written him off, and when the teams were announced to face Dundee, I was a bit disappointed to see him in the team ahead of Scott Allan.
Yesterday was like a light being switched on. He demonstrated speed, skill, intelligence and finishing. If we had acquired him for a lot of money last month, I’d be delighted at what was on show.
All of this happened, of course, against a poorly organised Dundee team. Far greater challenges lie ahead, but just like the transformation in Nir Bitton a year ago, or the gains Wanyama made in 2012, we can hope to transform Rogic from a lost-looking squad player into a top performer.
I think we were all delighted Nadir Ciftci got off the mark. Being clean through on the keeper puts the burden of onus on the striker. A significant percentage of such chances are lost, but Nadir’s finish was assured. Like all strikers, he needed that first goal, and I suspect needed the assist he gained a moment earlier when setting Scott Brown up for the fifth.
More game-time and more goals are now needed, starting with Raith Rovers in the League Cup (ouch) on Wednesday.

I really thought Sunday would have been a tougher test having come back from a European game and the hangover that can sometimes follow. I saw the rotating back 4 line up and was equally worried.
More fool me as not only we scored 6 goals with style, but also kept a clean sheet ( the first for many games). Delighted for the team and Ronny.
Lets hope they hit a wee run of form domestically and in Europe. Some tough games ahead in Europe.

As I and many others have said a yes vote is NOT a vote for the nats, tho it seems to fall on deaf ears.
I do not have a vote either, but I have family who are affected, so I take an interest.
The nats will last little time imo if scotland votes yes, the scottish people will see them for what they are, and they will vote for a scottish socialist party, it won’t happen overnight, but it will happen.

It was a good result but just as I dont get too down after a defeat (CL 3rd round qualifying excepted), I don’t believe that any corner has been turned, either.
Form tends to be more variable than that. I would expect further dropped points for Celtic while we are in the midst of Europa action. However, I also expect Aberdeen to ship points in unexpected places. 8 wins in a row is taking their is remarkable form but it cannot last. Their squad is simply not good enough to keep on winning but it is good enough to keep a title race going right through to Easter.

Don’t know if anyone mentioned this but Allan has been injured, he was on Celtic TV before the game talking about how he’s about to return to training. That’s why we ain’t seen him of late. It’s good though, because we’ve just seen Rogic’s best performance for the hoops. Things are starting to look up, it’s just a shame we had a dip at the most crucial point in our season.
