ROGIC SURPRISE

TOM ROGIC is in talks as he lines up a surprise return to football.

The 29-year-old Australia international playmaker is a free agent after leaving Celtic after almost a decade at Parkhead.

Former Hoops fans’ favourite Rogic, who made an emotional farewell appearance alongside Nir Bitton in the 6-0 Flag Day triumph over Motherwell last month, is in negotiations with a top-flight Indonesian club, according to a report in local media.

CROWNING GLORY…Tom Rogic and Ange Postecoglou pose with the Premiership silverware as the Aussie playmaker makes his final appearance at Parkhead in the 6-0 victory over Motherwell last month.

The stylish midfielder has been linked with Persija Jakarta, two-time Indonesian champions, who finished a disappointing eighth last season. They are managed by former German international Thomas Doll who has already signed former Slavia Prague and Czech Republic star Ondrej Kudela.

Clubs in the country are allowed to sign up to four foreign players – and one MUST be from Asia.

Doll is on the trail of Rogic, but he refused to elaborate and merely admitted: “This is not the right moment to talk about foreign players.

“Please be patient there will be a surprise and we will announce it.”
