BRENDAN RODGERS expects further negotiations on Tom Rogic’s contract to be conducted in the near future.
Reports from the midfielder’s homeland in Australia indicated he had knocked back an initial extension offer from the champions.
But the Celtic boss is in no rush as he plans for a successful conclusion to the campaign.
He said: “It will always be between the club and the players’ representatives, but he’s still got a year-and-a-half left here.
“He’s been brilliant in my time here and we want to keep him.
“It will be ongoing with him and his representatives.”
Ideally, the Hoops would like to have the situation put to bed before Rogic, who played 72 minutes of the 2-0 win over Aberdeen yesterday, goes into the World Cup Finals in Russia in the summer.
