TOM ROGIC has been called into Australia’s international squad for next month’s World Cup qualifiers.
The Celtic midfielder got the nod for the crucial ties against Iraq on September 1 in Perth and the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi five days later.
Coach Ange Postecoglou admitted he is delighted Rogic has agreed a new three-year deal with the Hoops.
He said: “It’s always a worry when they’re unsettled, but I think he’ll now probably feel better about things, as well.
“His form has been great in the pre-season and now at the start of the campaign for his club.
“Whenever he’s played, he’s made an impact, scored goals and also been very creative.
“I know when he does play – and he will play regularly – his career will continue to progress.”
Rogic has scored four goals for the Aussies so far in their qualifying campaign for next year’s finals in Russia.
