Roll up, roll up, crap club

821

The Rangers International share prospectus contained references about league reconstruction possibly expediting the club’s ascent to the Scottish Premier League for the first time.  This was never on anyone else’s agenda and was merely the latest manifestation of the train of thought that Scottish football could not, and would not, consider life without ‘Rangers’ in the top flight, or perhaps one division below.  We can only hope that the company’s budgeting was not dependent on this aspiration.

Even the most ardent advocates of the belief structure that a ‘Rangers’ branded company is wanted and needed by the rest of the game must now accept ample evidence exists that their flat earth claims are folly.  For the record, Scottish football no more needs Celtic than it did Rangers, we are a lumbering albatross around their necks.

The Rangers chief executive, Charles Green, makes a valid point about the remainder of his club’s season, “If this [12-12-18 reconstruction] does happen, what is the point of us finishing the season?

“We might as well have a winter break from now until August. I can’t see any point in carrying on with meaningless matches.”

Crap club

As many have pointed out, his is the same purpose as the teams in each division who are free of relegation threats and already out of title/promotion contention – it’s called sport, but all teams in the SFL Third Division are effectively now playing for the joy of the game itself, which is pretty much what most of the do anyway.  Let’s hope Mr Green’s comments are not widely reported to those he is trying to sell tickets to.  It was astutely reported that Green has the makings of a PT Barnum about him, but rubbishing your own product is more Gerald Ratner than Barnum.

Roll up, roll up

By contrast, PT Lawwell’s comments on the proposed reorganisation, “To be fair, it is one of the very infrequent times when the greater good of the game has been taken into account”, could be taken straight from the consensus-builder’s manual.  It remains to be seen how best to serve the greater good, but any solution has to work for every club, not just one or two.

Delighted Terry Butcher is staying in the Highlands.  Great news for Inverness and the SPL.  I’m enjoying this season; more please.

    Auldheid,

It is emerging, the club told the world through the manager that they would consult, as yet that has not materialised, that was two months ago, that statement brought hope to a lot of supporters that something would be done. Since then the GB are being harassed, nothing has changed for them, neither have the club honoured their commitment. It’s beginning to look like a delay tactic till the some positive publicity plays the hearts and minds game, some adverse publicity with many trying to blame the GB for Dundee, then an average deal hyped up to be the deal of the century and how we owe everything to a crew of executives who would have had to either be as corrupt or incompetent allegedly as hun1, to blow it ffs.

    Something stinks to high heaven.

Me & Mrs MM celebrate our 25th anniversary this year too, also Mrs MM’s 50th this year, me next year. Australia & West Coast of America for us this year as part of our celebrations. May think of Maldives for my 50th next year. Good shout.

Posiedon is not a bad writer for not being a writer ;-)

  3. Juwon Oshaniwa has claimed talks are

ongoing over a possible move to join

    Celtic.

    The Nigerian international, who is

currently with the Super Eagles as they

prepare for the Africa Cup of Nations, is

    contracted to Israeli side Ashdod.

Celtic were credited with an interest

earlier in the transfer window and

    Oshaniwa claims discussions over a

transfer have taken place, only to be put

on hold by his preparations for the

    tournament.

“There are still ongoing talks on the move

for me to go to Scotland,” Oshaniwa told

    All Nigeria Soccer.

“Once they are one, then everybody will

    have a clearer picture.

“It is God that has the final say, but they

are already talking with my club

    president.

“It was because of my preparation with

the Eagles that did not allow me to go to

Scotland to do some of the things that I

    am required to do.

“By God’s grace everything will work out

    well.”

Left-back Oshaniwa, 22, only joined Celtic

player Efe Ambrose’s former club Ashdod

    in September 2012, signing a four-year

    contract.

Both players are represented by the

same agent, Dudu Dahan, who also

    recently brought Israeli defender Rami

Gershon to the SPL side on loan, pending

    a work permit decision.

Capped eight times by Nigeria, Oshaniwa

had played his entire career in his

homeland prior to his move to Israel. He

has made 14 appearances to date for

    Ashdod.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon was said to be

delaying his trip to his team’s winter

training camp in Marbella to watch the

player feature in a friendly with Cape

    Verde Islands in Portugal.

It was not known whether the manager

took in the game, in which Oshaniwa

played the last eight minutes in a 0-0

    draw.

After allowing sevconian mcmillan to spout an enormous load of nonsense about the huns ,TalkSport have now changed tact and are talking about Lance Armstrong . How very fitting.

  6. Can anyone show the official notification published by the SFA at the time, which states: “Rangers Football Club have been demoted to SFL division 3”?

    No?

Surely, if that is what happened, there would be an official notification of that event from the SFA.

Has anyone received their Juve tickets yet? I’m on auto home ticket scheme and not got it yet and Mrs Prestonpans bought her’s on-line and still not here.

Anyway enjoyed a nice takeaway curry and now a Talisker to celebrate my birthday, bliss.

John McMillan is fighting a losing battle at constructing a sensible sentence. I’d love to know what ‘the biggest club in the country’ claim is based on.

Desperate stuff. So confident are the Zombies on this point, they have to shout it on a daily basis – no doubt trying to convince themselves.

Sevco is such a big club it wasn’t involved in the reconstruction talks. That’s the reality of the situation. New kids on the block.

Thanks, that’s reassuring because my postie is a bit random and your mail can hit any house!!

  11. The CSC number between 30-40 lads. The police will know virtually every single one of their names and faces. I would be utterly amazed if they had anything to do with the GB as they are poles apart entirely.

To say that football violence is on the increase is total made up nonsense. It has never reached the level of say England, but it has never gone away in Scotland. They have been fighting well away from grounds for over a decade now

The post from ‘The Insider’ looks and sounds like made up drivel to me

Jobo, re your forthcoming trip to Rome. My wife and I have been several times. I would advise against staying in a hotel as they are very expensive for what you get. Last year, my wife took her parents to Rome and they stayed in an excellent apartment rented out by a lovely Italian couple. They even arrange reliable taxis to and from airport. Check it out on Trip Advisor by looking up ‘ Domus Ciancaleon’. Enjoy your trip, it is a wonderful city. If you wish any further information I am happy for you to get my e mail address from Paul.

    Best wishes.

  15. Evening bhoys from a cold hun free mountain.

Just read the thing about the GB….Oh Dear, dreadfull stuff.

The polis will know every member of the GB, they have enough footage of them to start a film company.

As for the CSC, they will know them as well, and yet the club still condone the harassment and intimidation of the GB.

The club are doing good things in many other fields, but they are letting the club, and themselfs down badly, with how they are dealing with this issue.

    Only my opinion mind.

  16. These two paragraphs are a stand out

” If you are reading this there is a fair chance you might use Celtic websites and forums and some of you who use the bigger ones may have seen threads where a section of Celtic supporters admit to being involved in a “scene” , These so called “scenes” hark back to the eighties when pre arranged times and places are arranged for sets of rival fans to have a fight. This is becoming more and more prevalent as the months go past and more and more supporters from many clubs are starting to be involved. Privately the police are blaming the fact that just like in the early eighties people are feeling more and more alienated by society and might not have any good prospects of finding work or making money and it is this feeling of hopelessness that draws people to the “scene.”

Straight from the ‘shock doctrine’ school of thought control, make sure the general population are alarmed and in fear of social collapse

    and then this one…

Celtic and the police are worried that some of these fans are hiding their violent credentials and may be slowly installing themselves as members or associate members of the green brigade and who over a period of time may start to sway the behaviour of a larger amount of people. It is a well researched fact that in any group people gravitate towards the more controversial group members and that any large group can soon be over run by people they do not want but can not get rid of.

Bingo! You cant have punters getting too organised, society has moved on, it’s all about control, know your place. Let the big boys decide how you are to act in a modern democracy (cough)

Although I prefer to read that as a comment on the directors of Celtic being the ones who have over run the large group.

Oh and if the casual scene is being resurrected to such an extent that it is now top of the agenda

    a) I’m sure some one would have noticed

    b) Its arranged as the article itself states, in ‘industrial estates’ so it has absolutely nothing to do with Celtic or the Green Brigade so why even mention it?

Unless there is an ulterior motive. Celtic want rid and don’t know how to go about it so are trying this pathetic propaganda drivel.
