RONNY TO SHAKE UP THE TEAM FOR PERTH

CELTIC boss Ronny Deila has promised to make changes to the team for tomorrow night’s trip to Perth to take on St Johnstone.
Central defender Virgil van Dijk will be assessed before the kick-off after he sustained a knock in the late stages of 1-0 victory over Aberdeen at Pittodrie last Sunday.

Hoops midfield duo Nir Bitton and Stefan Johansen will not make the journey to McDiarmid Park. However, versatile Scotland international Charlie Mulgrew is definitely in the squad, and he could play some part for the first time since December 3 following a persistent knee problem.

The stand-in skipper played 45 minutes of the Development Squad’s 3-2 defeat from St Mirren in Paisley on Monday and came through unscathed.

Hoops coach John Kennedy is adamant the champions will be putting out a strong team though, regardless of any changes.

He said: “There may be one or two changes, but there won’t be wholesale changes.

“The league’s won, but we have players here who want to finish the season on a high and stay in the team.
“The last two games are not ‘nothing’ games for us. There are players who might get an opportunity to show that they can play at this level and that’s the attitude we’ll approach every season with: How far can we push this squad?”
