Ronny wasting his breath

731

Ronny Deila is wasting his breath when trying to warn those who throw pyrotechnics that they damage Celtic’s reputation. That fact is already well established but is irrelevant to those for whom throwing pyrotechnics is part of their football experience.

There is a clash of culture here. ‘The Man’, whether that be Uefa or the Health & Safety Executive, forbids pyrotechnics at football, but the consequences are visited on Celtic, not those who bring the pyrotechnics. No one has been brave enough to put their name to the pyrotechnic culture and I suspect no one ever will.

The last 24 hours has been a huge success for this unclaimed culture; it managed to grab some of the little space alongside the David Bowie news on Radio 5Live this morning, and many other places, adding fuel to the fire, if you pardon the pun. Someone is glowing with an “I did that” sense of achievement, although, of course, he’d never say so openly. It will continue unless the consequences are moved away from Celtic.

Before we worry about anyone else let’s get our own house in order.

Is the sale of house bricks?

    So many questions.

    So little rational, critical thought.

I had a wee think about your question ancient am caught between 2 stools

If someone launched said supermarkets bag ( no free advertising from me ) with a chocolate log inside – it would be pretty discustard but at a low risk of injury or illness ( given its hygenic plastic sheath )

If a flare was fired at me I think the risks would be significantly higher.

To me it’s like the suarez biting the shoulder incident – preferable to a broken leg

BTW – is it apt that I’m sitting on the throne blogging about grey friers bobbies ;)

    Hi Tony

I believe the comments were John’s own views, I’m certainly not aware of this being an official Club position on the matter.

    I hope this helps

Thanks for that truly astonishing list of fixtures. I wonder what the odds are of any team in the world being drawn Away 15 times out of 17 matches?

I know very few are influenced by the media so it must be just a coincidence that the main talking point coincides with something being highlighted by the apparently unimportant MSSM. Nevertheless, I would like to mention Leigh Griffiths` tremendous overhead effort and the fine save by the young Stranraer `keeper. I am sure this would have been mentioned at the time yesterday but it is in my memory more clearly than the pyrotechnic display. Brilliant effort. van Basten would have been proud of it.

    Im not being funny.

Ive saw a lot worse, and so have you.

Ive seen bhoys being stabbed, coshed, you name it.

I saw with my own eyes, the manager of Celtic being physically attacked on live tv.

And nobody apart from us, gave a flying feck about it.

If we have some unruly kids, sure they should be responsible for their actions.

But id hardly say it was as bad as the hun media are making out, Celtic are getting it again from all angles.

As for the stories about LIDL bags….where is the proof:)

I don’t read the msm, haven’t for st least 5 years,

My only concern is the wee fannys claiming to be tims

In my day they would all have went home wi a bow tie.

Celtic are getting it from all angles because of the acts of the GB, what part of that don’t you get mate?

It’s a politically run ( kid on ) supporters club, (cabal more like) and they rip the pash out of it every farkin year.

Yes,you are absolutely correct,it’s a minor matter in the great scheme of things.

Yes,it pales into insignificance when compared with regular hun behaviour, and to the wrongs done to us over the years.

The point is that it gives the MSM et al an out. An ideal opportunity to deflect the shitstorm onto us and away from that.

Why would anyone want to do that? And why would anyone want to support that?

Tony D comes out with some right Neil Sedakas in the rhyming slang stakes, Can anyone offer any real good ones they have heard over the years?

I always remember my brother, about to get ready for my Da`s funeral, stroking his chin and saying,” Right, better be off for a dig at the grave.” He then suggested that that might not have been the best choice of rhyming slang for a shave at that moment.

Yes lol, I was just havin fun with it, but for the Huns to go on Twitter and say it did? Weeeeelll what can I say, but then again after the GB showing us up yesterday, I REALY shouldent be grabbing the moral high ground unfortunately .

What im trying to do….very badly:)

Is to defend all those kids in the GB, who do not resort to these shenanigans.

And it is fodder for the hun press.

We cannot blame them all for the actions of a few.

  22. And i bet there are a few posters with short memories.

The so-called political direction of the GB, is nothing in comparison to the activism of Celtic supporters in years gone by.

Then….The Celtic support were political indeed….if you all remember some of the songs sung in the seventies and eighties.

The GB are mainly about fanatically supporting the team.

    They arent political revolutionaries ffs.

The difference being, back in the day nobody gave a shit what you sang (drunkenly I may add) but today the club has asked the support to resist singing them , it’s a very different world to that of even 20 years ago

I would be willing to bet….that most posters on the blog, have in their younger, wilder days, felt the sectarianism directed against them, and struck back in their own ways.

Me…I have battled with those vipers when i was a kid, because i wasnt having it at all.

We were all tough enough bhoys, brought up by our parents and grandparents to stand up against the bigotry.

I include your good self in this scenario.

The GB is founded on a lot of those principles.

I would expect them to deal with this, and make sure there is no repeat, because it only hurts the club.
