Ronny will value having game on Friday night

816

Yesterday I caught myself moaning about potentially winning the league without playing a game (epitome of first world problems).  How quickly we forget the pain of the 90s.  Let’s bring the title home as soon as possible, no matter where we are or what we’re doing.  There could be people doing the Ronny Roar in shopping streets across Scotland on Saturday.

The one place Ronny will not be doing the Ronny Roar is out shopping, though.  This time of year managers’ weekends are fully booked: one day for the game, one day scouting at another game.  With a game on the Friday night Ronny will be able to take in games on Saturday and Sunday.  Scouting opportunities before the end of the season are limited, so he’ll value the extra day.

A year ago Hibs asked to allow their season ticket holders into a play-off game for free – there’s your rule.  The opportunity to deny another club the same has gone.  Faux indignation about not even asking permission doesn’t register with me.

Club sponsor Magners have offered us a pair of premium tickets to the Jock Stein Stand for Friday’s game.  All you need to do to win is send me an email with the name of the team we play in the SUBJECT line of your email.  Competition closes at 9pm tonight (Wednesday), so not a lot of time.

If you would like to do something enormously constructive while entering the competition, you could always donate £1 (or more if you like) to our Mary’s Meals school kitchen appeal, which you can do right here.  Many thanks.

Yes it’s much the same here.

My completely jaundiced and unsubstantiated view is that law enforcement and politicians go easy on the dealers and traffickers as the addicts, like motorists, represent an easy source of local tax revenues.

Once an addict is in the system they are easy targets and get hauled up in court regularly for possession. This results in constant fines and surcharges in the court system.

Meanwhile the dealers walk free as they have lawyers and contacts.

If people like myself are tempted to take a baseball bat to a supplier we are the bad ones though.

That was certainly the rumour doing the rounds back then, that DD was pushing Keane.

I think we now have a manager fit for the 21st century rather than one fit for the dark ages.

I know, but it was identical to the Owen Coyle and his granny scenario, at Celtic.

What I will say is that Roy Keane would have been an unmitigated disaster, whereas whether we believe by accident or design Celtic got the right man in.

Haven’t seen a football manager that could do the ‘Keynote’ delivery, like that.

Dublinbhoy…………. sounds like a great life, have you retired to Florida?

Hi hankray…no, I’m not at that point of my life yet :) I am in the lucky situation where I work from home…fall out of bed, make myself a cuppa tea, potter around for a bit then start work at 9am!! But, it is a grand life. I’ve got to say I’m the happiest that I have been in years. I moved down from Boston a few years ago after a particularly horrible winter and never looked back.

Ronny is clearly a very clever guy who is looking to get his ideas across. I think it will take a few years before he blossoms. The young guys he signs and brings through are the key..personally I think that some older players are set in their ways and are difficult to change. I hope the supporters and the board support him but for me I think he is a work in progress as are the team but I am very happy with the way things are going so far. My son loved him from the start, my dad wasn’t keen but I wanted him given time. I believe that is a parallel of the players and a generational snapshot.

    Any thoughts?

I would like to think it was by design rather than by accident that we got Ronny. Let’s give PL his due and say he did his homework on Ronny’s beliefs and philosophy of football as well as his man management skills. Add to that his ideas on developing young (affordable) talent and we can now see what a good fit he is for us.

When you see an alcoholic or drug addict always remember they were not always where they are today and you probably wont know the road they have walked to get to that point.

I see some of the bloggers on here are on about taking drugs,I’m a bit of a connoisseur in the drug taking department,my total is, I have a couple of injections per day,15 tablets, and 3 capsules per day,I snort a few drops of the white stuff but through the mouth not up my nose, I shake, rattle, and roll most days, but they’re all prescription drugs, mores the pity.

A great comment from leftie about not judging anyone until either you know their tale or you’ve walked in their shoes.

Yip, I do like Ronny but we need the whole club to buy into his philosophy and I hope that he is given time by supporters, board and the squad including the youths.

I haven’t watched the Ronny lecture and really have neither the desire or inclination to do so.

Ronny will be judged on what his Celtic team achieve.

To be honest I think he’d prefer it that way.
