Yesterday I caught myself moaning about potentially winning the league without playing a game (epitome of first world problems). How quickly we forget the pain of the 90s. Let’s bring the title home as soon as possible, no matter where we are or what we’re doing. There could be people doing the Ronny Roar in shopping streets across Scotland on Saturday.
The one place Ronny will not be doing the Ronny Roar is out shopping, though. This time of year managers’ weekends are fully booked: one day for the game, one day scouting at another game. With a game on the Friday night Ronny will be able to take in games on Saturday and Sunday. Scouting opportunities before the end of the season are limited, so he’ll value the extra day.
A year ago Hibs asked to allow their season ticket holders into a play-off game for free – there’s your rule. The opportunity to deny another club the same has gone. Faux indignation about not even asking permission doesn’t register with me.

Left backs are always in demand particularly those who are naturally left footed. Look at the number of right footed players who have to play there and it doesn’t help the balance of the team ( Danny and Tom Boyd excepted).

I was talking to a good Tim mate of mine tonight. SSB was on in the background. Dave King was the topic and Guidi was saying the rules should be bent a bit to allow him to become a director. I said to him if Craig Whyte was a drug dealer or trafficking but was prepared to plough £50m into the Huns then his background would also brushed to one side. As long as they throw money at the Huns. Here’s hoping the South African government only let him go abroad with pocket money.

When Stephen O’Donnell, Thistle’s right back, was released by us, Danny McGrain couldn’t understand it. I believe Danny had taken him under his wing but was still released, I’ve been impressed by him when he plays against us. In any youth or reserve team match reports I read, Stephen was sounded impressive in the reports.
I hope Chris can get a suitable club, Accies are looking for a new left back, either here or down the road. You never know,his Tannadice mentor, Stuart Armstrong, might put a word in for him with us.

Dumbarton FC Youths — Thumbs Down
He joined the EK team and played for the Golds a couple of games, done well but because the Gold Team were doing so well, they quite rightly wanted to let the players they had nurtured play, so the coaches suggested he play for the Blue team as he would play every minute.
The first few games were well tough to watch, then a new coaching team came in. He is getting played up front, mental in my mind, as he is a guy who has his head up, and is better having the game in front of him.
The last couple of weeks, I’ve really enjoyed watching all the young dudes get better and better, they got the wee man doing the Stefan hassling role – a massive compliment.
The Bhoy will do well, you know that and I know that.
