Before the second leg against Maribor I went into detail about how important it was for Ronny Deila to rest his players. He did, we lost to Inverness and players spent the bulk the Maribor game looking like strangers.
Since then players’ propensity to look strangers has increased, with the arrival of Stefan Scepovic, John Guidetti and Wakaso Mubarak, not to mention the anticipated return of Aleks Tonev. Ronny has some serious decisions to make.
Does he flood the team with all this new blood, or allow them time to build match fitness and familiarity? New blood is badly needed but so is team cohesion.
Any decision for Aberdeen will be made with the visit to Salzburg one week today in mind. On paper, away to the top seed is our most difficult Europa League game, so we have to be ready.
My expectation is that three, if not all four, of the above will feature heavily on Saturday, which will inform Ronny ahead of his choices for Europe.
Fancy some comfy seats at the Aberdeen game and helping Mary’s Meals as well? The Club’s main sponsor Magners have again offered us two premium seat tickets for the Jock Stein Stand, which you can win by answering the following question:
Who do Celtic play in the lunchtime kick off on Saturday, 13 September 2014?
Optionally….. if you have £1 available, please donate £1 to Mary’s Meals at this MyDonate page, which sends your £1 straight to Mary’s Meals, then send me your confirmation email, with your contact details to celticquicknews@gmail.com Competition closes noon on Friday, so get your entries in now and watch your inbox on Friday afternoon.
You can donate more than £1, if you like, but £1 from as many people as possible will be gratefully received, as, like many organisations working in Africa right now, they are encountering a wave of additional ebola-related challenges.
Thanks for helping.
Terms and Conditions of the competition apply and are available here.

Exactly , he saw his chance to cut a deal when there was still a few quid to be had. Probably quarter of a mill better off today , that will buy some bubbly to quaff over at Charlie`s Chateau this weekend.
So the huns cash crisis is SO marginal that they need to pay out large wads of cash instead of having very large wads of cash frozen.
Clearly, the arrestment WAS impeding their business to a critical level.
Thus, only one more little nudge and ……..
ffm…
As it happens he’s injured but…
CM as a RB, OMG ……. NOOOOOOO
Sorry…LB
D’oh!
I guess Ahmads settlement wii be coming straight out of the “bank account”. No point in being a creditor where that mob is concerned…
OK, so the £1.2m is now £0.8m?
Phew! All’s well then…
I hope whichever team Ronny picks tomorrow starts to ‘click’.
One player I look forward to seeing is Guidetti – from what I’ve seen on Youtube his infectious forceful nature will be a fillip for the team and something that might just rub off on VVD.
Also, I hope Ronny gives some proper protection to Izagurrie (if he plays).
Good luck to all the holders today. Jobo is coming into a bit of form as his 88 the other night will testify.
On tomorrow’s game I’m hoping We see a couple of new guys, the swede Gueletti looks a player and Wakaso could be the signing of the season if the rumous are true.
Anyway it’s a great time to be a tim, work becons.

The granting of an arrestment is a fantastic way of focussing the attention of the defender in an action
Particularly an impecunious one

Now here’s an interesting question about the vote, can someone enlighten me on the law about this
You might have heard that the St Andrew’s cat died this week.
Now i know for a fact that he had already posted his referendum vote – so does his vote still count event though we are before the referendum date?
If it does, does that mean there is scope for a racket on proxy votes? So in the lead up to an election you could tour the care homes and hospitals of the country and look for people who are about to leave for the other side, and get them to agree to allow you to vote in proxy for them even though they might depart the arena before polling day?
What about zombies – there are now thousands of them in scotland (500,000,000 worldwide) – surely if they get a vote then that will skew the results
Democracy is falling apart around our feet
i blame the banks
and the zombies
Come on Raith. Would be fantastic if Turnbull Hutton’s club managed to be the last nail in their coffin.

I’m not sure how much Ahmed will have walked away with …may even have been only £100k
The beauty of the thing is , his claim was rubbish …..Greengo & Co screw the Huns harder..
To think they were taken in by these shysters …hilarious

Friday at last. My replica Lisbon Lions shirt arrived yesterday. I plan on noising up some Huns in the gym.. I think John Giudetti will give us the kind of edge we need in Ronny’s system. HH.
Watch the debate twice last night.
Once at normal speed and once in slow motion backwards.
PFayr has it spot on. When in slow motion backwards The Green guy and Sturgeon merge into one with pitch forks dressed in red with black cloaks – every word an expletive aimed at the destruction of Scotland. While Ruffy and Gearge waltz with sainthood smiling giggling offering hope and riches to all society.
It’s amazing! Pure amazing!
The kids they all sing Rule Brittania and God Save the Queen holding proudly their Union Jacks in the air with glee.
I’m pwoud of this discovery.

Hoopy do
Pretty sure that if your vote is cast it is legal whether alive or dead at time of counting said votes. That is one of the failures of the postal voting system.
Not too sure a big greed ginger cat can vote though.

Discussion on Beeb on whether Oscar P would be welcome around the world to compete again!!!!!!!
I reckon he would have an unfair advantage as when the starters gun goes off his competitors would hit the deck! ;-)

PJBhoynyc,
Apathy is the key to this referendum imo.
And this is why Westminster is starting to look a bit scared.
They have relied on apathy for some time.
Those who care enough to think of themselves as no voters with any kind of depth will turn out in minimal numbers to vote.
The yes campaign, as you rightly realise, has passion on its side.
The biggest turn out of voters is going to come from yes voters, including myself.
This is a yes vote. I can’t see it going any other way.
No voters out there are really really few and far between, which is why I find these polls bizarre. But even if they’re correct, apathy will kill the BT vote. Poetic justice, I suppose.
All this despite some poor stuff from the yes campaign, and frightening policies from the SNP, particularly regards judicial and finance policy.
==
Strangely the ‘large’ Scottish Ex pat enclave based here were saying the exact opposite. Many are returning home next week to, along with eligible children and spouses, to vote. The overwhelming majority have stated they are intending voting no. A couple of the younger single guys are vociferously in the yes camp. It is perhaps worth mentioning that those stating they will vote no are from the NE of Scotland and are employed by one of the major oil companies in middle level management and engineering positions, perhaps their choice simply reflects the voting preference of that region and concerns within the industry over exaggerated claims of reserve levels made by the Nats. Something which even those voting yes concede as being an ‘overly optimistic evaluation’
I will be returning to Scotland on the 17th and have decided not to vote as being an Irish citizen I do not believe I have the right to participate in a plebiscite to decided another country’s future. My own future lays in the hills of Inishowen. If I were to vote it would be no.
“Mr Ahmad’s claim is being robustly defended.”

Robustly : not perturbed by or attending to subtleties or difficulties; uncompromising and forceful
“The case will be formally taken out of court in the next few days.”

‘I call anyone on here who predicted this to be a liar, no one on here could have saw that coming, although I have to say, I had a wee sneaky feeling.’
###
I can recall only one poster on here predicting exactly this outcome.
And having to explain the rationale of it all to the doubters.
After last night’s debate I came on to CQN and expressed my thanks to George Galloway for “turning the tide in favour of a Yes vote”.
I have just listened to BBC Radio Scotland and heard an interview with two school students who were in attendance, one YES and one NO.
The NO voter said she felt very let down by Davidson and Galloway and confirmed that several of her previously NO friends had reverted to YES after the debate.
And that was on the BBC !!!!
Tom McLaughlin

Was that the interview in which the yes voter referred to Westminister?
Any more info on the BBC forcing the weans to vote no?
Has anyone reported the scandal to childline?
Arsene Wenger reveals Pope visit caused Danny Welbeck’s Arsenal transfer.
Frustratingly, Wenger refused to elucidate further, preferring to wait for another day to spell out just how his Vatican jaunt caused Welbeck to move in such a mysterious way.
YES PEST activity is already off the radar today, and it’s not even 9 o clock……
The more crap I get linked, text and emailed to me from these guys, the more I’m convinced to vote no.
God help us. 6 days to go. Hopefully it ll stays civilised, but I fear we will get reports of some increasingly serious incidents as we build up to Thursday.
Ernie –
They didn’t force them.
They asked them.
They were told to “piss off”.
Hundreds of thousands of Catalans energised by Scotland’s upcoming independence referendum have protested for a secession vote aimed at carving out a new Mediterranean nation in what is now northeastern Spain.
Just how many showed up was in dispute after the protest ended on Thursday evening. Barcelona police said 1.8 million people participated but the Spanish Interior Ministry’s regional office in Catalonia put the number at no more than 525,000.

Tom.
I would argue it is impossible for someone of Galloways standing to shift any momentum in an event of this magnitude.
He is a sideshow .
How many of the 18-23% undecideds will have been swayed after watching a fairly sick man do badly at the weans debate? Very very few, I would suggest.

Have you any more information than you had last night, which appeared to be based on a post from someone who’d received a tweet?
It’s just that you were suggesting that the BBC were up to all sorts of dirty tricks for politically partisan reasons and you were demanding that I condemn them.
