It seems harsh. This is a club burdened by their Champions League history. Newco, having successfully argued the SFA should refer the matter of Rangers’ eligibility for Uefa competition in 2011 to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), now request the SFA do not take the matter to CAS. It’s a kind of Newco logic; any victory in a storm.
They argue this procedural guidance establishes the complaint has no merit, whereas the SFA Judicial Panel Disciplinary Tribunal did not address the complaint, only their competency to examine it.
The Judicial Panel ruled “the Notice of Complaint must be determined by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.” The word “must” has been overlooked by Newco. The SFA must act accordingly. Taking the whole thing to Lausanne will make sure we don’t need to go through another round of “Who are these people” type witch-hunts. I know what you are thinking, Dave King has been making friend with the SFA on a weekly basis for months now, surely they will do his bidding.

For those looking at AEK of last year, here is some good news from KDS.
From last season they’ve lost the spine of their side:
– Their manager
– Sergio Araujo. Striker and top goalscorer (21 goals)
– Lazaros Christodoulopoulos. First choice centre-mid (16 goals).
– Ognjen Vranješ. Centre back to Anderlecht for €3.2m. Played 11 out of their 12 Euro games.
– It will be our 6th competitive game. Their first. I suspect our fitness to be worth something.
‘If’ we get there, which I expect us to. With a defensive slate of Lusitg, Boyata, Jozo et al or their replacements fit and ready to go.

I think it’s an OK draw. Tough, but it is tough at that stage. At least travel is not an issue, Greece is actually in Europe.
Complacency is one of the biggest dangers In CL qualifying, but with the Norwegian Champions next up, and then the Greek Champions if we prevail against the Borg… well complacency will not be our main problem.
