a good result, and another mature performance.

I thought that the germans would win this group, so, if Celtic can better them and get through, it will be a very good result.

  2. With Celtic away in Europe it is never comfortable but it was controlled.

    Very impressed with Benkovic.

And I offer my apologies to Salzburg for ever thinking they would deliberately lie down. Mind you, now they have qualified, they don’t have to try too hard in their next Europa tie on the 13th December

Take the night off lads- listen to some Mozart and have some kuchen and schnapps

  3. Brilliant result, love it.

So much for the Red Bull carve up, not many predicted we wouldn´t need to win the last game.

That actually sounds like a very good evening. Might try that some night.

What a turn around since the first few games. And should give the lads a bit of confidence for sunday’s game.

Think the Dons could be in for a humping.

  6. Well deserved. I think Chris Sutton and the CQNers were more nervous than our players. Some neat possession football displaying excellent control.

I didn`t see all of the game but from what I did see, I would say our goalscorer , for some strange reason, is not very confident. Dropping him would dent what belief he has even more but how many poor games will he be allowed before we play Hayes , Morgan or Johnson?

I thought we would win tonight but fail to qualify. Now I am , unlike Sinky, growing in confidence. The Salzburg game at Celtic park could give us yet another one of THOSE nights.

Well done Brendan and the Bhoys.

  7. Chris Sutton Twitter.

Outstanding performance from Celtic and let’s hope they celebrate with their fans who made the trip, let’s hope the Norweigians don’t get offended…..

    JNP @7:59…. brilliant!

I thought Sutton was a GREAT player for us, and I like him as a commentator.

  9. Job done but was more difficult than it should have been due to our propensity for giving the ball away in the second half.

Rogic was the main culprit and although he has magic feet he is a liability in Europe because he gives the ball away to often in dangerous positions.

Benkovic,Boyata and KT all played well. It’s the one area in our team that is suited to a higher level.Take out any one of these three and we will struggle.

Our inability to find a teammate in the last third was shocking. We consistently made the wrong choice to waste good opportunities.

We looked as though we weren’t sure of trying to kill the tie off with a second goal or just retain possession? We did neither.

Often say our lack of anticipation and pace makes us predictable and tonight it showed.

Our slow one paced approach mad it easy for them and when we had space to attack our lack of anticipation had us running into a crowded area.

To be effective at the higher level much improvement is needed.

Sinky and Eddy were well below their best tonight . I think that was certainly part of the reason why we had the nervy 1-0 instead of something more comfortable. Anyway….a must win away game in Europe and we did it!

  11. 40 seconds in and the zombies are up their knees in Fenian blood.
