Not looking for an argument, or to debate Forrest’s previous contributions, but too many times he appears to be resting on the laurels you mention, and simply dialing it in.
Count the number of times he chases an opposition player with the ball, catches up, then mysteriously slows down at the last minute to avoid making a tackle.
When the going gets tough, he simply disappears, epitomized by his negligible contributions over the years via the team/s playing out of Govan.
It is no coincidence that so many posters consider James could do a lot more to help us now, notwithstanding his sterling previous record.
