  1. Onto Saturday, will Ange start Maeda, Kyogo, Jota or Jota, Kyogo, Abada?

Jota looks a lot better on left but how can you leave Maeda out? Perhaps his physicality gets him the nod for first 60 mins.

  2. Only sour note Welsh injury. Thought he was playing well, poor lad looked gutted coming off,

Thought Tony the Tiger edged MOM, a lot of good performances out there, going to be hard to pick my other two for Jobo.

I think Ange is on a rolling contract but he strikes me as a noble type of ghuy.

I don’t think he is going anywhere soon.

I know it was only a wee cameo but Sean Haka had me jumping out of my chair.

Can’t wait to see him play again.

Bernabei is a tough little fecker but I reckon. Taylor Juranovic will rightly start against the Hun.

I really think we are on the cusp of something special.

  3. Goodnight all Thanks as always for updates and goals.

We are living in special times enjoy them even any bumps in the road. HH

Some players get wrapped in cotton wool , but James Forrest comes off the pitch and gets wrapped in bandages .

    Allegedly .

  5. Evening folks,

Very much enjoyed watching the game tonight on TV. A much changed team from the weekend, but you could be forgiven for not noticing that, as in the early stages of the first half the fluent one touch quick passing, keeping the ball moving had us 2 up early doors. Thought our fast passing and fluency slowed a bit and they got back into the game with their goal.

But we quickened the pace again and got the goals to put the game to bed. A very accomplished performance at a venue where we have recently encountered tough games.

Mooy impressed me with his reading of the game and he is a very tidy player. Sead greatly impressed me, good touch, very fast and direct and good link up play. Appreciate it was late on and the opposition players would be tired, but for a guy who has not played much football and is not up to speed fitness wise he looked very sharp. I suspect we have a superstar in the making there.

I know we have seen false dawns before, but this really feels to me like the start of something special with our club. And remember, Ange has stated that we are only at the beginning of this journey, from what he has been saying he expects this group of players to improve a lot more.

This is as excited as I have been about our beloved clubs’ prospects for a very long time.

Steven Gerrard is one defeat away from being the worst statistical Aston Villa manager ever.

  7. We are absolutely relentless. And quality everywhere.

Next two games will show how good we are or maybe where our weaknesses are. Maybe both.

Just going to keep on enjoying the way we play.

  8. Malky McKay could learn from Ange

“I watch the game, try and be calm and as unemotional as I possibly can. I’m still churning inside of course, you still feel it but you see the way we play, we want to get on with things, we don’t want to be stopping the game, arguing with the opposition or referee’s. If the players were to see me carrying on on the sidelines, I think that would reflect on them. I’ve always been that way. If i’m talking to the forth official, then i’m maybe missing something else out there, something important. There are times when I will be emotional but for the most part I just focus on the game and try and help the team.” – Ange Postecoglou.🍀💚

To think some on here this afternoon didn’t accept the logic of “resting” the majority of the first team in anticipation of the next two games 🧐

No injury worries for Kyogo, Hatate or Jota and valuable game time for the likes of Starfelt, Ralston, Mooy and new boy. Big keeper played well too. Looks assured.

    Brilliant night.

I would be one of them who was sceptical of a lot of change.

It wasn’t against the logic of “resting” that I can see,

    I was more concerned with

a)maintaining our winning mentality, all games are the same to me,regardless of competitition

b)did we have enough depth to take hon R.C,agricultural physicality?

I guess that’s why Ange is manager and I am typing to you as a fan/observer on here

No bad thing, increases my confidence in team, squad and manager..

    In Ange we trust

    Hail Hail

  12. An Tearmann – until the last couple of months I would have wholeheartedly agreed with you. Start your best XI and use the subs when game is won. If it had been a league game, that would still have been the logical approach, I think.

But this is a very different squad that is emerging and there is a very different mentality to anything we have seen for a long, long time. Thank the heavens for Ange. I’m sure making such sweeping changes won’t happen often and probably won’t always work out so well .

The League Cup is definitely the place to do it though.

  13. linked with this lad – (Oliver Abildgaard ) big strong center mid who can also play center back – the flex Ange talked about. I’d be delighted if we signed a player of this type!

  14. STEBHOY on 31ST AUGUST 2022 11:41 PM

Asked about Abildgaard, Ange Postecoglou said: “It’s definitely a name. There has been a lot of names. Obviously, there are still 24 hours to go and some outgoings we are still working on as well. We will see how things fall over the next 24 hours.”

Is everyone dreaming dreams of 7-1, 5-0, or 6-2?

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Yes, but then again, I would be ecstatic with a 1 – 0.

  18. Morning from Denia. Forecast 32 degrees and sunny The blog was a very pleasant place yesterday, almost like old times. Good football keeps the neg vibes away.

Rumours for today mostly focused on Abilgaard coming in and MJ going out.

I assume Messi, Neymar and Ronaldo are being announced this evening in Govan.
