  2. Yep; no place for nasty slurs about our blog host, Paul.

It’s possible to find favour and fault in the blogs he writes – as I oscillate between – but no need for the teenage insults shirley.

Looking to see how wee Josh Nisbet (5′ 2″) from Oz fares against our midfield maestros too. Great wee player on his day.

We’ll beat the Rossers by 2 clear goals methinks.

“Some on here say tactics dont matter and while that may be true in over 50s six a sides, (otherwise known as walkin fitba) in the real world of the CL they most certainly do.”

    ————————————-

Can you specify what notorious eejit on CQN ever made such a stupid statement?

As a practitioner of so-called “walkin fitba” , there’s a chance I may have played against him or her.

Unless, of course, they are imaginary figments.

Cannot recall offhand which notorius eejit actually made said comment, could be anyone of a few to be fair, but it was made in response to the idea, shared by the many, that perhaps Brendan might have adopted a different approach, tactically, to playing Borussia in Dortmund. Their point being, and I’m paraphrasing here, that blootering the ba’ up the park would not have changed things, a theory disproved when instead of doing so Maeda tried to take the ball around an opposition player after a corner was cleared wide by our defence. There is a German word for that theory but I wont use it in a family paper. Best put the boot in, (or at least a worn out sandshoe) to all and sundry in your next six a side game…..

    pour encourager les autres….n’est-ce pas?

  5. Hail Hail cmon the Hoops a few goals and a few points and no I juries would be bliss.

Big Jimmy – congrats on winnings.

Perhaps not for game day, but I’d love to know what you think Aidan O’Brien’s secret is.

I know a tiny bit only about the ponies ..

… but, in a sport that has the clichéd “so many factors outwith one’s control”, this guy’s success rate is something.

  8. Engels, some forget the boy is still” Settling in” as he said in the interview. We have said before, new country, new team mates, new everything.Takes a bit of time.Someone the other day, thinking he might be an expensive mistake.I fekin give up.

Want us,obviously, and Dons to win today.

    C’ Mon the Hoops.

Like you, I cannot recall anyone on CQN being sufficiently notorious or eejitous to make such an easily disprovable comment.

However I do recall people disputing what constitute’s a “tactic” in football terms.

More importantly, Daizen’s “brain fart” trailing of the ball back into trouble by heading back across his own crowded penalty area was not a habit or tactic encouraged by either Brendan Rodgers or his first ever under-9’s coach. Yes, Brendan asks players to play out and be brave on the ball, breaking the press and retaining possession but…….. just like Ange before him, he allows clearances to be made when the alternative is too dangerous.

That mistake was 100% Daizen’s- it was neither encouraged nor condoned by Brendan who would be tearing his hair out along with the rest of us watching. We as a support demand the blotter clearance too early and too often.

There’s a fine mix to be melded in this tactics business.
