    Scalesy’s been consistently great for months and hand balls like that can happen to any defender.

     

    We reset.

     

    Engels and Valle both showing settling in uncertainties. So far I dont see what Valle brings that our young bhoy Matt Anderson didn’t show in the pre-season friendlies.

     

    RC almost playing a 5-5 line-up; wonder how they’d go against Dortmund.

     

    Let’s fix this 2nd half bhoys!

    Clancy didn’t make either call so can we stop blaming the ref for our terrible performance?

     

     

    RC are basic, solid, committed. Idah or Engels cost more than their entire squad, with millions in change.

     

     

    We need some speed of thought and guile- Kyogo may offer it.

     

     

    Maeda needs to improve his final touch- whether passing or finishing.

    First half was all Celtic. RC goal was completely against the run of play. Scales was a bit unlucky as he stretched to block the cross but left his arm hanging out there. We haven’t been able to carve out any real chances because RC have 10 men in their box every time we go forward. Kuhn has been our best player, but he needs to get round the back to the byeline in this game. We’ll need to get a goal early here to open them up a bit. Test of the team mettle coming up here.

    100% Dexter. Ref had no say in either decision. Right too about Maeda. His lack of control at times is terrible.

    Ref and VAR have missed a stamp on Engels and another late tackle on him from the back both by their right back.

    The start of this 2nd half shows how a lethargic and poor quality first half performance is rarely remedied by the flick of a switch at HT

     

     

    This in my view is on the players. Not the system. I’m sure BR drilled home the message as to what was required.
