CELTIC’S Scottish Cup opponents Albion Rovers swooped today to sign Theo Archibald on a development loan from Celtic until the end of the season.

Archibald will go straight into the squad for tomorrow’s game against Livingston.

Rovers boss Darren Young said: “Were delighted to welcome Theo to the club.

“He’s a great attacking talent who has a big future ahead of him.

“He has pace and will create chances and score goals. He will be a good addition to the squad and help push us on in the second half of the season.”

Celtic may be wary of the young Celt lining up against his own club. Just last month Paddy Roberts, on loan from Manchester City, opened the scoring against his home club in the Champions League.

Talking of Roberts, we hear that his longer term future is more likely to be in Glasgow rather than Manchester with Brendan Rodgers keen to sign the player or at least extend the loan period with a view to signing.

CELTIC could end this season winning the league by a record points margin if the Champions can maintain their impressive start to the campaign, which has resulted in only 2 points being dropped back in September in a 2-2 draw with Inverness Caley Thistle.

The League leaders ended 2016 by defeating their nearest challengers at their own ground to stretch their lead to an incredible 19 points with a game in hand too!

So after playing 20 games Celtic have taken 58 points from 60 and have scored an impressive 54 goals while conceding a mere 16.

It this form continues and if we account for another side managing to grab a point from the Champions Celtic would end up with a record breaking 110 points and that could mean a winning margin or over 30 points, with the possibility of the margin being as high as 40 points.

A big factor in the mentality that new manager Brendan Rodgers has installed in the squad. The players know that the new boss will only tolerate the best from players if they are to feature in his side and several players are now aware that they aren’t going to be part of his plans going forward and are free to find new clubs.

Those that are staying and playing are aware that complacency is their enemy and that it will simply not be tolerated by their Irish manager.

And the Celtic supporters are keen to experience a record breaking season which would be perfect if the Treble is secured, the team can go unbeaten domestically and they can win the league by a record points margin.

The Treble is already two thirds in the bag. The Betfred Cup was won convincingly in November – and Celtic went through the entire competition without losing a goal!

The league, which would be the club’s sixth successive title, is 99.99% won – it would take a complete disaster for Celtic to lose it now from such a commanding position. Infact it’s silly to even discuss such a possibility.

That leaves the Scottish Cup which Celtic enter this weekend away to Albion Rovers. The Coatbridge side are hosting the game at Airdrie’s ground and have sold all 10,000 tickets.

The match is also live on TV so the minnows are certain of a big payday and indeed an opportunity to play against this attractive Celtic side.

Their chances are slim to say the least and Celtic will in all likelihood be a step closer to Hampden on Sunday evening.

And the punters who placed their bets on a Treble winning season when Brendan Rodgers took over from Ronny Deila will be feeling rather pleased at the way things have gone so far. Their confidence will be high that all 3 targets mentioned above can be achieved.

Sports betting can certainly divide people. They are going to be staking a lot of money on the result of a particular match. It is easy to feel as if the successful parties have wronged everyone else when they manage to win.

This can be tough on the people who bet on the results of a football match only to lose. However, this creates part of the thrill. This is a good time for betting in relation to the WinTingo online casino Football: Champions Cup™. WinTingo online casino games are as popular as ever, and they are particularly popular during this season.
