‘ROW REF’ IN CHARGE AT IBROX

BOBBY MADDEN will be the man in the middle when Celtic travel to Ibrox for the midday confrontation with Steven Gerrard’s side on Sunday.

The referee, 40, was in charge of the explosive match between the sides in March when he red-carded Alfredo Morelos for a cowardly elbow into the face of Scott Brown.

There was an ugly confrontation at the end of the game, which was won 2-1 by the champions with goals from Odsonne Edouard and James Forrest, when the visitors’ left-back Andy Halliday confronted the Hoops captain and picked up a second yellow card to serve a suspension.

Govan gaffer Steven Gerrard also accepted a one-game touchline ban for comments made towards the match official after the stormy encounter.

Madden will be assisted by Graeme Stewart and Frank Connor.

Willie Collum, who was the referee in the champions’ 3-1 win over Hearts at the weekend, will be fourth official.
