ST MIRREN walloped Motherwell 4-1 tonight to book their place in the Premier Sports League Cup Final at Hampden on Sunday December 14.
The Paisley side will now meet either holders Celtic or Danny Rohl’s Ibrox side who face each other in the other last-four encounter at the same venue tomorrow afternoon.
Mikael Mandron was the Saints’ hero with a double strike – one on each half – to send the Fir Park outfit tumbling to defeat.
The lively frontman claimed the breakthrough strike in the 25th minute when he pounced on uncertainty in the opposition defence when Declan John sent in a low cross from the left.

WALKING ON AIR…St Mirren’s two-goal hero Mikael Mandron.
Mandron took one touch before lashing a low drive past the stranded Callum Ward.
The Well keeper was left helpless again five minutes from the interval when Dan Nlundulo thundered in a second with a ferocious drive from the edge of the box that rattled the rigging at the top left-hand corner of the net.
Mandron hit the post in the 74th minute before the Lanarkshire side pulled one back through Callum Hendry in the 83rd minute to set up a grand finale.
However, it was Stephen Robinson’s men who struck again with a shot from Richard King that spiralled past the unfortunate Ward.
And Mandron made certain when he whipped in No.4 in the fading moments.
