Salmond, MacAskill, Sturgeon police state quest crushed

It should be a matter of great personal pride to the football fans, manty of them Celtic fans, who campaigned against the Offensive Behaviour at Football’ Bill from the outset, and then against the Act, faced off against the Scottish Government at Holyrood yesterday and won.

Their satisfaction will be shared by James Kelly MSP, who raised the Bill in Parliament, which yesterday brought down the Act.  Well done to him and his colleagues.

This nonsense was never about ending sectarianism, neither the SNP Government, nor the police, have moved an inch towards this goal since Alex Salmond first raised the subject.

Sectarianism in football grounds was given life in 2011 by then Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill, who sat through 90 minutes of The Billy Boys at Hampden, before congratulating fans on their performance.  The Billy Boys returned to stadiums that day and since then, we have lived through an SNP endorsed open season.

The Act was a familiar mix of populist rhetoric and right wing police action so common with those who put identity politics before people.

After their defeat, the Government acknowledged they would recognise will of Parliament, despite ignoring the same will when an earlier vote on the Act was passed.  Nicola Sturgeon did everything in her power to prevent this defeat.

Salmond has moved on to his spiritual home-broadcaster, where proto-right wing nationalists get to claim credentials of the left without challenge.  Today we have a government and police force which have been made accountable to the law and the democratic will.  The need for vigilance against extreme right wing policies continues.

Well done again to all those who campaigned so successfully.

  1. Well done to HT for all your efforts.

An independent Scotland for me? Too right. For P67 to contend that the SNP is a bastion of right wing policy, racism and bigotry is an insult to my intelligence. Time you took your blinkers off and looked within.

I would love to see some constructive ideas about how to move forward.

Time will hopefully be the great healer in the end.

Different times mi amigo, the world is a cut throat place now, money is the new God, back then money was a factor but a ways away in the distance, they can’t afford to let us win the ten.

Well unless the establishment is going to pony up with other peoples money again I don’t see how they can stop us:))

Aberdeen have peaked under Deep the sneak, Hibs are up and coming and the current squad under Murtinho will change again when he gets the bullet, not only do the Sevs not have any wedge they have no continuity of player or coach.

The Ten will be the final stake through their black hearts.

    Can I get a Hallelujah:)))

I have wondered how it will work, they are ramping up the cheating on a weekly basis and they are having a free ride, nothing is being said or done to stop them, in a sense they can do what they want and they know they will get away with it, who is going to stop them ? really, who is going to stop them ???

This title will be seven, 8-9 then comes the big one, who knows what the football landscape will be like by then, I have said many many times that the biggest losers in the hun debacle will be Celtic, and from where I am typing I stand by that, all I can see is everyone bending over backwards to assist them, most of their board should be in the jail ffs, most of the sfa should be joining them, but as ever, it’s only those who sing the offensive songs whop get the punishment, the real criminals are allowed to do what the ef they want.

You really think we will get the ten, I wish I had your faith G, I really do.

Will do FB, had a wee chat with him earlier, no bad for stuff like that the ole Facebook!

Enjoy yer Paddy’s weekend in the sun!

The mad squad weren’t out because of Mother’s day, the Bhoys you met were the sensible ones :-)

Great day and I can assure you I know your good lady was never far from your thoughts, even through this sad time it was great to see that big smile when Edouard scored :-)

I have been assured my mate from mount vernon is a cert for the 15th so no need for taxi home :-)

Take care, it was a pleasure to watch the game against some new Klub in your company ☘️

By that time we’ll have taken over the SFA and Pedro will be working them from the back:))

I agree it’s hard to retain any faith in the face of such wretchedness from all sides of the hun debacle but I just canny help it, thinking we’ll do it and I hope I’m still here to see that ten, I might even be tempted to retire from ripping the pish out of the hhhhhhhhhuns when we do the ten:))))

Brendan’s team are growing and while the sevs are improving it’s only against the wee teams that they’re really getting results, they haven’t laid a glove on us or Hibs and I fancy Killie tomorrow and if Killie get a result their title race hahahahahah BFSDJ will have a meltdown of epic proportions.

  9. What is the Stars on

If Celtic stay focussed nothing other than a miracle can stop 10 in a row.

    Suffer enough ?

It’s pity they need, they haven’t looked uo “suffering” in the dictionary yet !

Like the Huns have a dictionary :-)

    Suffering ??????

    Liquadation ?????

If they don’t know, better just leave them be

  11. Starry~Stars

The huns are a poor poor team, yet they were only a Collum away from three points last week and the Celtic world would have been in meltdown, think about it, we were blessed last week, aye we were the better team, but the best team disny always win, we have been refereed out of a few trinkets in the past few years and will be in the future, tis they way it is in scotland, as I said I wish I had your faith.

I still have a magazine from the late 90s, a footy mag where they are creaming about the huns and how we will never catch them, all it took was a chap with a mouser to come along and dip into his fortune, who’s to say that’s no gonna happen with thems, when they are rid of all the chancers and spivs, free of all debts and they start again……this time I will worry, it’s gonna happen, no way on Gods earth will they be allowed to die, if we haven’t seen that by now we never will.

Different times mi amigo, the world is a cut throat place now, money is the new God, back then money was a factor but a ways away in the distance, they can’t afford to let us win the ten.

tell me ET what can they afford? :¬))))

Ah the Auld Hun Bogeyman, the Real Rangers Man waiting in the wings to pounce with his billions to put Timmy in his place:))

Didn’t they have one of those recently:))

James White, John Whyte naw Craig Whyte/White/Whitey!

Are you saying DD’s money stopped the ten???

    Different times as well TET!!

They had every scam in the land going and still couldn’t win the title!

DD ponied up when he had to but you can’t say he bought us success..

With all the cheating that’s gone on they still couldn’t stop us from getting to 7, so I don’t believe they will stop 8 either not with the players and the system Brendan is putting in place at Celtic, that’s just me, I never thought I would see 7 in a row but it’s almost there and in my opinion just mine again the noose seems to be tightening around theirs and the SFA’s neck, they might not die for good but I don’t see anyway back for them just in the way you say they might have someone turn up with wedge, I say who the feck is that much of a hun he’s going to more money down a black hole trying to catch us??

These are great Celtic times and I’ve been laughing my face off all week:)) After last weeks game I had one darksider write to me that I was celebrating the title too early, that it wasn’t over.)) I said mate read what you just wrote out loud back to yourself:)) says he ” aye right enuff”

They know, deep down they know:))

    Long may their ignorance last

At least when Celtic were rubbish we knew we were rubbish, but still Celtic

My Celtic never needs to win :-)

But it is sooo good when they do

    Happy Days CSC :-)

Have a cracking day in Coatbridge the day, I would love to jumping a taxi up there tomorrow as it I will head into town to meet a couple of Irish boys and I might even watch the rugby with them, changed days for me!

Aye that used to be a full time job talking about how rubbish we were after the games:))

Take it when it’s going CSC

  19. Well, one day back in Scotland and i have already had a raging argument with a Scottish Man Utd fan about the “sectarian” false equivalency.

I very much regret rising to the bait but I said my piece…

Got the Bankies at home tomorrow might be the last time we see them in the Junior league at Girvan !

I’m very happy with the postion Celtic have reached this season. We won’t fly the flag after game30, like we did for 6IAR!, it’ll be game33 or game34 this season. It depends whether or not we enjoy one more good match weekend from any of the next three. Next season?

Sevco don’t have the resources to continue over-investing as they have done for two years in the Premiership. Aberdeen’s focus will be their new stadium. Hearts are a joke. Hibs are great. Kilmarnock won’t hang onto Steve Clark.

St Johnstone and Tommy Wright, without the distraction of early Euro qualifiers, will be the dark horse again.(hahaha).
